Pomfort has released the next round of professional features to LiveGrade. LiveGrade Pro was specifically designed to interactively adjust and preset looks on the live-image of SDI signals of a wide range of digital film cameras. The new LiveGrade Pro v3 contains multiple features and performance enhancements that support DITs, colorists and DOPs to work fluidly with looks in the production process by achieving demanding and accurate results faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Munich, Germany - Pomfort, a global provider of professional solutions for color and data management on the film set, has released the next round of professional features to LiveGrade. LiveGrade Pro is the must-have solution by now offering more functionalities to adjust and to compare looks directly on set. The new video input interface enables capturing the HD-SDI signal of a camera so that recorded clips or live images can be used for visualizing and referencing the required looks. The new split screen view makes the comparison of looks even more convenient and accurate.
Furthermore, Pomfort has delivered look library enhancements to LiveGrade Pro that significantly accelerate and optimize look workflows. LiveGrade Pro v3 now has the capability to extract time code information from the live HD-SDI signal which is automatically saved along with the look metadata in the library. Based on the look information in the library, LiveGrade Pro now allows to create look reports as PDFs for a faster end-to-end communication specifically when it comes to the task of matching footage with appropriate looks in the dailies creation process.
Also, DITs, colorists and DOPs increasingly need to be able to apply filters for color correction in order to either easily adjust a specific color or range of colors or to configure a specific look for correcting color cast of different lenses or camera filters. Matching these requirements, LiveGrade Pro now provides new filters for secondary color correction and offers the ability to apply multiple different CDL or 3D LUT filters at the same time for preparing customized color pipelines. LiveGrade Pro comes with a variety of further features such as support of ACES 1.0 transforms, or the new color controls for tint.

G.I. Records today updates Percussion Loops HD to version 1.2. Percussion Loops HD offers 10 styles performed by a known percussion player, purpose built for iOS. It has all the options you need to aid play along, compose or jam to the loops. A family product with iOS musicians in mind for anyone looking for a pro loops library! Four chapters of all relevant Cuban grooves, fills and samples were added besides a copy and paste protocol for GB, giving the user true Apple Loops, following GB tempo.
The Hague, Netherlands - Go Independent Records today updates its succesful IOS app Percussion Loops HD to version 1.2. And in the fall of 2015 another update can be expected with even more styles and instruments. And, as with all other G.I. Records apps, there is a Light version available with one chapter (ballads) fully disclosed and functional for interested customers to try out. It can be found in the App Sore under the name Percussion Loops HD Light.
Percussion Loops HD is a vast library with hundreds of percussion loops and samples, played by a known professional player (Jeroen de Rijk, Amsterdam, the Netherlands) and purpose built for iOS! Use them with your daw - a.o. Garageband, Auria, Cubasis, Multitrack Daw - (plus AUDIOBUS and Inter App Audio support) or let them loop within the app itself. Nothing is programmed or synthesized, but played live. MixTape is a simple, beautiful and easy-to-learn application for making beat matched mixes and exporting them to iTunes and/or the web. Initially released in 2010, version 1.3 brings MixTape in line with the modern Mac experience. Improvements include pitch lock; responsive scrolling; retina graphics (including waveforms); low power consumption; 64-bit execution and a Yosemite UI.
Wellington, New Zealand - Atomic Droplet, developer of MixTape, has announced the first release in the '1.3' series. MixTape is an audio workstation for mix tapes. It matches an elegant UI, closely matched to the OS X look and feel, with a powerful analyser that can create a 'snap to grid' environment for making beat matched mixes. A single click can publish to iTunes or even the web, makes mixes easy to share.
No mere point release, the move to the 1.3 series is actually a wide-ranging overhaul covering almost every aspect of the application's operation. New features include:
* Pitch lock - Comfortably the #1 most requested feature from the community, pitch lock ensures that a track's pitch does not change as it's tempo does
* Waveform instead of spectral images - Again, requested from the community, MixTape eschews it's traditional spectrogram view of music for the more traditional waveform
* Images also receive a very substantial increase in resolution, ensuring they display crisply and clearly on retina displays
* The UI has been reworked to fit in more closely with the Yosemite style - Flatter, very few gradients
* Responsive scrolling implemented - MixTape's work surface now pans and zooms without stutters and at the full 60Hz refresh rate
* The audio caching/prefetch code has been reworked to make scrubbing through tracks cleaner and with fewer dropouts
* Numerous other modern OS X features include running as a 64 bit application and improved metadata extraction for newly imported tracks
David Preece, employee with the job title "everything," discussed the rework: "It just started as a little cleanup for the next dot release. But when I started looking around the codebase there were so many 'I should do this' type requirements that it turned into the huge job that it was. Some of the deprecations were plain ordinary annoying - AVKit replacing QTKit for example. But on the flip side, some of the newer technologies are actually kinda fun. It's great seeing your graphics code running on a retina display with responsive scrolling - it makes it clear how far we've actually come in the last few years."
MixTape has also gained full written documentation. Something which, according to Mr Preece "Should have happened ages ago, right from the get go, but didn't. MixTape always appealed to the 'learn by experiment' users because the UI is so simple, but the learn-from-lessons users have always been left out in the cold. That has finally been fixed." Future direction for MixTape is now to integrate more closely with cloud services - chief amongst these being MixCloud.
