Choppy Tap Lets Users Battle Head-to-Head on the Same Device - Published on 06/08/16
Spritesoft Development today releases Choppy Tap 1.23, an update to their fun-to-play game title for iOS and Android devices. Version 1.23 includes a cool weapon upgrade using coins with minor bug fixes. In Choppy Tap, players must furiously tap their screen to unleash their weapon and overpower their enemies, or even engage in an exciting and challenging head-to-head battle against friends using the same device. This unique and addictive game features over a million levels.
Singapore - Mobile game fans looking for a creative and fun new app that they'll spend endless hours of time enjoying - especially if they want to battle against a friend to see who will triumph - can now head to the App Store or Google Play and download the ultra addictive Choppy Tap.
Available at no-cost and created by Spritesoft Development, Choppy Tap is refreshingly easy to understand, yet tough to master. There are three game options: launch a brand new game, continue a game, or choose the phenomenal "vs. mode" and battle head-to-head against a friend on the same device.
For the one-player options (new game or continue game), users find themselves on an open landscape, and must furiously tap their screen to use their weapon and overpower a sequence of enemies. Users can also keep an eye on their skill level and weapon experience level, both of which fluctuate based on performance. Once users reach 100 percent experience on a particular weapon, they get to browse their inventory and see what new weapon has been unlocked. There are over 50 unique weapons.
In addition, users can take advantage of power ups to help them triumph and climb levels. For example, they can temporarily double the damage that their weapon inflicts, and so on. Each weapon has its own specific power ups, and discovering them is part of the game's fun and excitement. At any time, users can also check out key statistics for both themselves and their enemy, including hit points, level, tap count, list of skills, and so on.
Another interesting Choppy Tap feature is the "rebirth" option, which allows users to essentially re-start the game from scratch, except they will have a 1.5 multiplier (i.e. they will inflict 1.5x damage instead of 1). This allows users to rapidly climb levels and defeat some particularly tough enemies. Rebirth points are calculated based on a user's current level, with 1 rebirth point being earned for every 100 levels.
For the fantastic two-player option ("vs. mode"), users play on the same device and put their reflexes, coordination, dexterity, and concentration skills to the test. Each user starts with 100 hit points, and must get the other down to zero points to win the game. This mode features both an offensive and defensive angle. On offense, users tap to hurl weapons at their opponent. On defense, users tap to use weapons as a shield to block oncoming attacks. It's incredibly fun and no two vs. mode games are ever alike.
And while all of this fighting and tapping is going on, users are treated to excellent sound effects (which can be muted as desired), and fun pixel art graphics that look sharp on both tablets and smartphones.
"The most common feedback we get from users around the world, is that once they start playing Choppy Tap, they want to keep on playing for hours and hours!" commented Tan Soon Kai. "And with over a million levels to experience and conquer, along with the option to battle against friends, users never have to worry about getting bored!"

The Menu Says for iOS Offers Easy Translation of French Menus to English

The Menu Says for iOS Offers Easy Translation of French Menus to English - Published on 06/08/16
Creekcats LLC today announces The Menu Says 2.52, their innovative French to English menu translator for iOS devices. This app displays each line of the original French menu with an English translation immediately below it. This allows English-speakers to easily order food while traveling in French-speaking countries. Users can simply snap a photo of the menu, crop the image, tap "Translate," and then view a professional translation. In just a few moments, it's time to order a delicious meal.
Berkeley, California - Creekcats LLC is today pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of The Menu Says 2.52, their easy-to-use French to English menu translator for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The app makes it easy English speaking diners to order from any menu written in French. Anyone can simply snap a photo of the menu, crop the photo, and tap a button to translate. The translation results are then displayed in an easy-to-read typeface, with each line of the original menu immediately followed by its proper translation, making it easy to simply point to the item they wish to order.
The Menu Says uses the same innovative translation technology that's used in Creekcats' other popular menu translation apps, "Le Menu Dit," which performs English to French menu translations; "Il Menu Dice," their popular English to Italian menu translator; and Caidanshuo, their English to Chinese menu translation tool. All three apps have proven extremely popular with iOS users, and now the developers are offering that same easy-to-use technology to make it easy for English speaking travelers to translate French menus into English. The Menu Says will ensure English speaking vacationers will never again order snails, unless that's what they actually have a taste for.
The idea that became The Menu Says had its origins during a vacation trip to Germany by developer Phil Price and his family. The group's limited German vocabulary knowledge, along with no truly convenient way to translate the German menus, led to a number of less than satisfactory dining experiences for the group. The lack of any simple way to quickly and accurately translate menus written in another language planted a seed in Phil's mind, which led to his idea for a menu translation app. Immediately upon returning from vacation, Phil began working with his two friends, Nathan Addy and Yixing (Ethan) Chen, to begin work on developing an app. The group has been working to improve and expand their menu translation app lineup ever since.
Features:
* Translates French menus to English, using a photo of the menu
* Works without an Internet connection
* Includes over 38,000 menu-related words and phrases
* Displays translated words in a bold font, perfect for travelers 55 and older
* Shows each line of the menu with its translation immediately below, so it's easy to match each item to its translation.
* Saves results, so users can easily go back and forth through pages of a menu
* Includes a built-in flashlight function for use in low-light conditions
* Shares translation results via email or Facebook with an available Internet connection
While most "jack-of-all-trades" type translators use machine-based translation engines, The Menu Says uses translations that were made by Mr. Robert Sachs, who is both a State Department-certified translator, and a lover of fine French cuisine. Robert and his French-born wife have worked and resided in both France and the United States, giving them a unique knowledge of both languages and fine dining. The app makes use of their expertise to do one thing very well, provide an accurate French to English translation of menu items.
Why Choose The Menu Says?
* The app is designed specifically to make it easy to order from a translated menu: Each line of the menu is followed by its translation, making it easy to simply point at items to order a meal.
* Reliability. The app works very well on most menus, and gives an acceptable translation on most other menus. The translation is in bold, easy-to-read type.
* No Internet connection is required. Many apps of this type require an Internet connection. The Menu Says' translation dictionary completely stored on the device, yet uses only a small amount of storage.
* The app's user interface is designed to be quickly understood, so users can easily use it the first time, every time.
"We have had a great reception from users with our first menu translation apps, and we can't wait to introduce travelers to our new French to English translation app," says Phil Price, developer of The Menu Says. "As we develop our lineup of apps, we learn more every time we develop a new one. The Menu Says is the culmination of all our efforts to date, and we're very proud of the result."
The Menu Says was developed for one task, and one task only, to makes translation of French menus to English a painless process, allowing diners to concentrate on the one thing they should be concentrating on, enjoying their dining experience. Translation consists of point the iPhone's camera at the menu, take a photo, crop the photo a bit, and wait a moment for the translation. The final step? Enjoy the meal.
Device Requirements:
* iPhone iPad, and iPod touch
* Requires iOS 7.1 or higher
* Universal Application
* 12.1 MB
Pricing and Availability:
The Menu Says 2.52 is free, and is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Travel category. It can be launched three times for free, and several menu pages can be processed with a single launch of the app, so a user can use the app for several meals for free. They will then need to unlock the app via a convenient in-app purchase. Options for premium features include one week's usage for $0.99, or unlimited usage for $2.99. Review codes are available upon request.

UK based ElitApps, Ltd. today introduces Floaties 1.0, the company's new game title developed for iOS and Android devices. Meet the Floaties, a group of 4 differently-colored characters. London, United Kingdom - ElitApps, Ltd. today is proud to announce the release of Floaties 1.0, the company's new game title developed for iOS and Android devices. Meet the Floaties, a group of 4 differently-colored characters that must be helped to stay alive in their endless floating adventure. Tap your way to a record-setting number of floats with over 40 different characters ranging from clumsy chicken to ferocious dinosaurs while dodging crazy and unexpected obstacles.
With an endless gameplay, Floaties keeps you hooked as you travel 8 different worlds filled with specific obstacles. All you have to do is tap to keep the characters floating, but the easy controls are balanced by an almost impossible gameplay:
* Endless Floating Gameplay: Control up to 4 "floaties" at the same time each with its own color by simply tapping to help them float. Each floatie is immune to the same color obstacles but is destroyed instantly by obstacles with other colors. Your main goal is to have a fleet of all colors and to try surviving the longest. Easy to play, but impossible to survive for long.
* 8 Adventurous Worlds: Help your floaties survive through the ancient world of Egypt, the sci-fi landscape of the Moon, the unlawful Wild Wild West, the dangerous Jurassic Park and more. Each of the 8 playable worlds feature its own particularities depicted in eye-catching 3D graphics so get ready to dodge out-of-orbit satellites on the Moon, T-Rex bones in Jurassic Park and hundreds others!
* Dozens of Characters: From flying drones, chicken, rockets to E.T., Cleopatra or even Jack the pirate you can unlock more than 40 different fun characters. Collect coins throughout the game and use those to spin the wheel of fortune to get a new random character or unlock your favorite one. Gain experience with each character and level them up to 5 stars!
* Powerups and abilities: Aside coins you can collect special objects that help you gain powerups for a limited time (i.e. collect 4 potion bottles to double your coin collection for 15 seconds). With your new abilities you'll survive longer and score higher.
* Solve Quests: Each world has a theoretically endless flying/floating gameplay, although in reality you die A LOT, but offers side quests too. Can you collect 7 items of the same color? Or have one of RGBY floatie destroyed a couple of times? The more quests you solve, the tougher that level gets. You start at Easy, advance to Medium and become a master when you reach the Hard level of difficulty.
* Achievements & Leaderboard: Connect via Google Play Services/ Games Play Services to unlock more achievements and access the social or global leaderboards if your score is high enough. You'll also be able to analyze the statistics for each world, such as how many items you've collected, how many quests you've completed, what was the best score and MUCH MORE!
* Multiplayer Challenges: Provoke up to 4 of your friends to a game of keeping floating characters alive! You can play the game in multiplayer mode and this gives 4 users the chance to play Floaties on the same device. Who can be the best? Only practice will tell!
Aside surviving all sorts of entrapments that destroy Floaties of a different color (i.e. than the obstacle color) you must collect coins, power-ups and character resurrection items. Play often and you will be able to get free coins too by pulling the handle of a slot machine. The same game will unlock a random character for 100 coins. Each world you play in features awesome 3D graphics and well-designed characters that create a great gaming experience especially accompanied by an entertaining soundtrack and sounds.
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Requires iOS 7.0 or later
* 67.7 MB

AssistiveWare introduces genuine French Text to Speech children's voices
A new article has been published at prMac.
AssistiveWare introduces genuine French Text to Speech children's voices - Published on 06/08/16
AssistiveWare and Acapela Group announces genuine French Text to Speech children's voices. The voices, called Elise and Valentin, are made by and for children. Beginning today the voices are available as a free download in AssistiveWare's Pictello, a visual storytelling app for iOS that's often used in the classroom for social stories and schedules to support children with autism and Down syndrome. Children can share stories with voices that are age appropriate and natural-sounding.
Amsterdam, Netherlands - Today AssistiveWare and Acapela Group announced the release of genuine French Text to Speech children's voices. The voices, called Elise and Valentin, are made by and for children. Beginning today the voices are available as a free download in AssistiveWare's Pictello, a visual storytelling app for iOS that's often used in the classroom for social stories and schedules to support children with autism and Down syndrome.
In France, Belgium and Switzerland, over 100,000 francophone children between 2 and 14 years old are estimated to not be able to make themselves understood with their own voice. With today's release of the French children's voices, children can finally share stories with voices that are age appropriate and natural-sounding. In Pictello, the children's voices are available in two variants; one that speaks numbers between 70 and 99 in the Belgian French way, and one speaking those numbers in the Parisian French way.
Soon these voices will support even more French children with autism and other diagnoses. Later in June they will be added to AssistiveWare's text-based communication app, Proloquo4Text. This fall AssistiveWare will release its award-winning communication app, Proloquo2Go, in French. The app, already available in English and Spanish, has been optimized for French in collaboration with French AAC experts.
"French has always been an important language at AssistiveWare," David Niemeijer, CEO of AssistiveWare says. " After AssistiveWare was founded in 2000 with the release of on-screen keyboard KeyStrokes, French was the first additional language we supported."
The new French children's voices are also available on Mac through the Infovox iVox Voice Manager co-developed by Acapela Group and AssistiveWare. By using Apple's built-in speech functions, the voices can read almost any text on Mac OS X. Combined with AssistiveWare's word processor Wrise the voices also support French children in reading and writing.
AssistiveWare and Acapela Group have collaborated on genuine children's Text to Speech voices since 2012, now offering 16 children's voices. Both companies are looking forward to keep continuing offering voices for kids all over the world.
About Acapela Group:
Acapela Group invents speech solutions to vocalize any written content with authentic and original voices that express meaning and intent. Preview:
A preview of the French version of Proloquo2Go incorporating the new children's voices will be available at the Autonomic conference in Paris. Find the AssistiveWare booth at C50 from June 8 - 10.
