Tormentum - adventure game inspired by works of H.R. Giger - Published on 06/12/14
OhNoo Studio recently started a compaign for Tormentum, a surreal adventure game, featuring moral choices. The action of the game is set in a dark world, veering between dreams and nightmare. The main protagonist, that the player takes control over, doesn't remember his name nor the place where he came from. Visiting new lands, he slowly starts to uncover the truth about himself. The game is going to be available for PC, Mac, Linux, and mobile devices.
Gdynia, Poland - Nothing further from truth because, on the basis of this seemingly hackneyed plot, OhNoo Studio succeeded at creating one of the most original worlds ever seen by the adventure games genre. Sound familiar?
The dreamlike atmosphere featured in the game was inspired by the works of a Polish painter, Zdzislaw Beksinski, and a recently deceased Swiss painter, H.R.Giger, among others. The game's final appearance was also greatly influenced by the worlds presented in such games as Demon's Souls and Dark Seed. From this mixture we created a world full of darkness and depression
OhNoo Studio only recently started an Indiegogo campaign for Tormentum. Their aim is to raise funds necessary for finishing the game and the goal is to collect $9000. Gameplay could not be easier. Players place Soda Pup in soda areas to start massive chain reactions and pop bubbles. With 100 innovative and unique levels across 5 soda lands to play, gamers will face increasing challenges to think and tap through.
"Soda Pup is my fifth entry in the mobile gaming world," said game creator Alan Thomas. "I wanted to create a cute and engaging world in which both kids and adults can have fun helping Soda Pup through level after level. Soda Pup is a real labor of love. It combines two of my favorite things - dogs and games - in one fun-filled app."
Unique level designs are only one of the challenges that players face in helping Soda Pup reach his goals. Tennis balls and ice cream cones help players get to out of reach bubbles, while squirrels and no-Pup zones require timing and strategy.
Players have to reach level goals and score big to get the best grade. Each level has three paws awarded for reaching certain score benchmarks. Players get an "A" and a power-up reward for getting all 3 paws and popping all of the bubbles.
