Smoovie for iPad - Stop Motion Animation for Education
A new article has been published at prMac.
Smoovie for iPad - Stop Motion Animation for Education - Published on 11/01/16
Scottish based Open Planet Software today introduces Smoovie for iPad v1.6, the new education version of their popular stop motion animation app. With the ability to record your own audio straight into your project and a whole range of helpful classroom resources built right into the app. Plus... all the great features that make Smoovie the perfect tool for effortless stop motion animation in the classroom: instant playback, scenes and frames, onion skinning, adding music, sharing and more.
Inverurie, United Kingdom - Open Planet Software today is pleased to introduce Smoovie for iPad (v1.6), the new education version of their popular stop motion animation app. Smoovie for iPad is a professional, innovative animation app that brings the creative and deeper learning power of stop motion to classrooms, families and animators around the world.
Pupils now have the ability to record their own audio/voiceover straight into their project, and the new, in-app teacher resources give easy access to downloadable PDFs, example lesson plans and stop motion animation ideas ... everything you need to get your class up and running!
Plus... all the great features that make Smoovie for iPad the perfect tool for effortless stop motion animation in the classroom: instant playback, scenes and frames, onion skinning, adding music, sharing and more ... Used by Apple Distinguished Educators around the world.
Key Features and Benefits:
* Instant Playback - No rendering means you can instantly play back your work each time you make a change to your project, without having to wait.
* In-app Teacher Resources - Download and print right from inside the app. Storyboard, scene script, character profile, set design and props list templates. Example cross-curriculum lesson plans and stop motion animation techniques all ensure you have enough resources to get your pupils planning their projects and animating in no time.
* Onion Skinning - Possibly the most important feature of a stop motion animation app. It helps the animator to perfect the tiny adjustments required between frames and create the illusion of smooth motion in the finished movie. The live camera feed is made semi-transparent and superimposed onto the previous frame taken, so it's easy to see where to place your objects for the next shot.
* Record your own voiceover or import a soundtrack - Pupils can plan and record their own audio right into their project, or browse the iPad's music library to choose the perfect soundtrack.
* Scenes - Arranging content into scenes is a fundamental part of the professional film-making process, and Smoovie is the only stop motion app that lets you do this. Each scene has an independently adjustable playback speed (from 1 to 30 frames per second) allowing you to vary the pace and mood of your animation. You can add new scenes, cut unwanted scenes, capture new action into existing scenes and drag scenes around to change the running order - all with full undo support so you're safe to experiment.
* Frames Filmstrip - With a quick swipe gesture you move from the scene list to the virtual filmstrip which contains all the individual frames of the project, arranged by scene. Another fundamental part of professional film-making is the ability to edit projects right down at individual frame level. Cut, copy and paste frames, drag frames from one scene to another and even copy frames from other Smoovie projects, all with full undo support.
* Create, copy and paste from other apps - Open up a whole new world of creative possibilities for making content for your animations. Copy and paste content from the Photos app, create titles with Keynote or turn sketches from your favourite drawing app into cartoons.
* Extend the creativity - Smoovie makes it easy to export your animations to be used as content for other apps. You could write your own soundtrack in GarageBand or add some opening effects in iMovie.
* Share - Export your animations to the Camera Roll on your iPad and use any of the share options available to you there, or transfer to your Mac or PC. And if you've got Apple TV, you can display your masterpieces on television with AirPlay Mirroring.
"Supporting pupils and teachers in their learning is our highest priority with Smoovie for iPad," explains designer and developer Gavin MacLean. "We know that stop motion animation is invaluable in promoting deeper learning right across the curriculum and that is why we have added a whole range of in-app teacher resources to this new version of Smoovie for iPad, as well as the ability to record your own voiceover. Now it couldn't be easier to get the classroom up and running with stop motion!"
Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPad
* Requires iOS9.0 or later
* 28.4 MB
Pricing and Availability:
Smoovie Stop Motion 1.6 is $6.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Education category.

Long Island, New York - Mobile app review publisher AlphaDigits has named top rated apps for October 2016. AlphaDigits names five top class mobile apps every month based on the reviews published in the website during the particular month. This website has now released the names of top rated mobile apps for the month of October.
iSPY (10/10): This is a unique game in the sense you do not just play the apps inbuilt missions, but create missions for other players or play missions created by other players. Using the GPS-Ranged weapons makes this game quite interesting letting the player make the best use of the available weapons when and where possible as well as providing variety in weapons that can be used at different locations.
PersonalityMatch (9.5/10): PersonalityMatch is an app that you can download for free to figure out what kind of personality you have. Based on the questions asked and answers you choose you get a report that identifies the personality category you fit into. This can be introvert or extrovert, sensitive or logical, planner or doer.
Tabata HIIT. Interval Training (9/10): This simple to use app is available for android users on the Play Store, free of charge. This app has been built in a way that it can be linked to another app that most trainers would want to use; the Sportsman PRO. It has a simple and friendly interface that most users will be comfortable with using. There are a lot of options to personalize the standard training workouts and to create own workouts.
Lonely Sun (8.5/10): The sun is lonely and it needs friends. Lonely Sun is an app like no other where you command masses of matter with your fingertips, as if you were gravity's guide. Your mission is to create a planet, or more, until you have an established solar system, complete with its very own sun and planets.
WeatherBug (8/10): WeatherBug is a pretty cool app if you are looking for a single point of contact to get your weather information. There are various ads that are interspersed throughout the app, on almost every screen. You can get rid of them with a small in-app purchase, however.
Joe Ellen, an Editor at AlphaDigits said, "We can promote your app on social media platforms to generate up to 10K downloads." Developers can contact AlphaDigits through the onsite form to get their apps reviewed. They can contact by mail or the contact form to avail other marketing services.

Hear My Baby Pregnancy App Hits #1 in 11 Countries on App Store Charts

Hear My Baby Pregnancy App Hits #1 in 11 Countries on App Store Charts - Published on 10/31/16
Fat Cigar Productions Ltd today announced that Hear My Baby Heartbeat Monitor Pregnancy App has made it to number 1 on the App Store paid medical category in 11 countries, and has been the number 1 app in the UK for the last eight weeks. This unique app helps expectant mothers to simply and easily hear their baby's heartbeat by pressing the microphone from their iPhone up against their tummy. Some expectant mothers have even reported stunning results; hearing heartbeats as early as 17 weeks.
Winchester, United Kingdom - Fat Cigar Productions Ltd today is thrilled to announce that Hear My Baby Heartbeat Monitor Pregnancy App has made it to number 1 on the App Store paid medical downloads category in 11 countries, and has been the number 1 app in the UK for the last eight weeks. Some expectant mothers have even reported stunning results - hearing heartbeats as early as 17 weeks. The app now has thousands of monthly users.
Quotes from Users:
'Fabulous...' by Nikkijp3 - "Great app, sceptical if it worked but my sister in laws mum is a mid wife and she was impressed! but you should move the record/listen button to the top of the page so it's easier to press when your bump is bigger as when you just find the beat you have to move off slightly to see where to press and record, or your belly presses it by mistake! X"
'Love this'! by CherryLipFreak - "Used this app to listen to my soon to be here Niece. It worked perfectly! My 3 and 4 year olds were amazed by hearing the baby's heartbeat. Would recommend 110%"
Best In Class:
It is the best-in-class, pregnancy app developed for iOS devices. Beautifully designed, Hear My Baby helps expectant mothers to simply and easily hear their baby's heartbeat by pressing the microphone from their iPhone up against their tummy.
The one-touch record feature makes it simple to record once the heartbeat has been found, and then our advanced audio recording system has been engineered to specifically identify the heartbeat range of the baby and then amplify the heartbeat sound it so it can be recorded and shared via email or Facebook. This is extremely difficult to do well, and has taken considerable testing and re-engineering to perfect.
The number of weeks pregnant can be recorded and a selfie taken to remind of the time and date it was taken (and the size of the tummy!), and of course the easy share feature allows posting on facebook pages, groups or timeline. The mother's privacy is completely protected and no recordings are stored on the developers servers, meaning that unlike other apps in this category
It is a fantastic way to bond with the baby, increase the involvement for siblings, husband and grandparents. Please note, this is not a medical device and should not be considered as a substitute for medical advice or opinion. Always use the app in Airplane mode.
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Requires iOS 9.0 or later
* 14.1 MB
Pricing and Availability:
Hear My Baby - Heartbeat Monitor Pregnancy App 1.0.4 is $4.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Medical category. Please contact Ross Jones for Promotional Codes.

StoAmigo Lets Users Stream, Transfer and Share Files Across Devices
A new article has been published at prMac.
StoAmigo Lets Users Stream, Transfer and Share Files Across Devices - Published on 10/31/16
Las Vegas based developer, DV Connect LLC today announces StoAmigo 2.1.0, an update to their popular productivity app for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows. StoAmigo enables anyone to quickly, easily and simply share, transfer and stream any file or folder between their computers and devices, without tediously connecting cables, uploading to the insecure public cloud, or incurring storage limits and fees. Version 2.1.0 is a general update.
Las Vegas, Nevada - It's a common dilemma faced by everyone from executives and professionals, to students and soccer moms, and the list goes on: the frustration of being unable to access documents, photos, videos and other files because they're stored on another device or computer. Well finally - and some might say mercifully as well - this problem no longer exists thanks to the innovative and recently updated app StoAmigo 2.1.0.
Compatible with multiple operating systems (iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows), StoAmigo enables users to quickly, easily and simply share, transfer and stream any file or folder between their computers and devices - but without tediously connecting cables, uploading to the insecure public cloud, or incurring storage limits and fees. Here's a rundown of the key functions:
* Share: users can set individual download permissions and expiration dates - or go a step further and apply patented 2-Factor Authentication - to securely share any files or folder by sending a web link via email or social media post. What's more, StoAmigo features a file mirror that allows authorized individuals (whether they're using the app or not) to retrieve shared files and folders even if the source device is offline.
* Stream: users simply select the file they wish to stream via the app or web portal - such as music, photos, videos, movies and so on - and enjoy it on-demand. No uploading to a remote server is required, and users can also stream music directly to any Bluetooth-enabled device, or stream programming to their TV (currently StoAmigo supports Apple AirPlay and DLNA).
* Transfer: instead of waiting - and waiting - for files to upload to the cloud, users can rapidly transfer files and folders directly between their devices via drag-and-drop, or by including a link in an email or social media post (essentially the same approach that is used to share content as described earlier). There are no size restrictions, which is very welcome news for users who are frustrated with their email server's limited capacity, or who don't want to pay for a cloud storage subscription.
"Billions of people around the world rely on their devices and computers to stay productive and up-to-date, or just to access their favorite music, videos and so on. But accessing content from within this the multi-device ecosystem is often an exercise in frustration - and in futility as well," commented Ben Ow, StoAmigo's President and Chief Technology Officer. "That's where StoAmigo is a total game-changer. It safely, securely and simply puts all files and folders at each user's fingertips - no matter where they are, or what device they happen to have with them at the time. We've also designed the StoAmigo user experience to be consistent and seamless across all screens and platforms. Users can quickly stream, transfer, and share files with anyone - even if they aren't a StoAmigo user."
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Requires iOS8.0 or later
* 53.4 MB
Pricing and Availability:
StoAmigo 2.1.0 is Free and available worldwide through the App Store in the Productivity category, and for Android devices from Google Play. Clients for MacOS and Windows, along with additional app information and screenshots, are available from the StoAmigo website.
