Veteran film editor Richard Marks A.C.E. is scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Creative Pro User Group (lacpug) on Wednesday, March 26 2014 at the Gallery Theatre in Hollywood beginning at 6:45PM. Marks has been nominated for many awards including four times for the Academy Award, four times for A.C.E. Eddie Awards, and three times for the BAFTA Award. Headed up by Michael Horton, lacpug is the largest User Group dedicated to digital storytellers in the world.
Hollywood, California - The Los Angeles Creative Pro User Group (lacpug) have announced that legendary film editor Richard Marks A.C.E. will appear at lacpug, Wednesday March 26, 2014 at the Gallery Theatre, Barnsdall Art Park in Hollywood, CA. beginning at 6:45PM.
Marks is best known for editing such films as Godfather II, Terms of Endearment, Apocalypse Now, Broadcast News, As Good as It Gets, Dick Tracy and many many others. He has been nominated 4 times for an Academy Award, four times for A.C.E Eddie awards and three times for the BAFTA Award. Marks has been elected to membership in the American Cinema Editors, and in 2013 he received their Career Achievement Award.
"We are so excited as well as honored to have Richard Marks appear at lacpug," says Michael Horton, the current head of the User Group. "This is one of cinema's greatest picture editors who has worked on some of the greatest movies ever made. It's a rare opportunity for us to get up close and personal with Richard and we are very grateful he has accepted our invitation. And we promise there will be ample opportunity for everyone to ask questions."
The doors to the Gallery Theatre will open at 6:00PM and a Q&A session called "Stump The Gurus" will begin at 6:45PM. This is a chance for all filmmakers to get all their problems solved with any editing system they are currently using. Marks is scheduled to appear on the stage at about 7:30PM.
