VidiBee re-invents mobile video advertising - Published on 03/20/14
The evolution of mobile video advertising has finally begun with the release of VidiBee, the mobile video competitions platform from London-based Mobile Video Services. VidiBee is the first purpose-built mobile video competitions platform, allowing users to compete in branded and unbranded video competitions by entering 15-second clips to try and win real-world prizes. The unique advertising approach means no fear of interruption from unwanted display adverts - ever.
London, United Kingdom - VidiBee, the video competitions platform, was put on general release this week from Mobile Video Services Ltd. It is currently available on iPhone, with an Android version soon to follow. The free app invites users to compete for prizes by entering 15-second video clips direct through their smart-phone in a bid to win the best rating score from other users. Competitions typically run for 4-5 days and have already featured diverse topics, from talent contests and artistic animations to beauty themes, such as nail art. Prizes won by users have so far included private dance lessons, clothing discount vouchers and iTunes and Amazon store vouchers.
VidiBee's approach to mobile video advertising leverages mobile technology to actively engage users - allowing them to enter and rate fun videos and to interact directly with brands they choose. By inviting users to participate in branded competitions with multiple touch-points, VidiBee does away with interruptive "pre-roll" advertising altogether, which is seen as increasingly ineffective.
The platform also boasts "viral-ready" content, with the ability for users to share entries and competitions on other social media, Facebook and Twitter, at the push of a button. The app has a strong social element itself, with User profiles showing off any videos they have previously uploaded and an Activity Stream displaying actions of Users and Brands they're following.
The video competitions app has been well-received by early adopters, with feedback such as "OMG! It's really good - something I've been looking for!" whilst others have likened it to a competition-based version of Twitter's Vine: "It's like Vine but with competitions... and I can win stuff on VidiBee, so why would I want to put my videos anywhere else?"
