Houston, Texas - Independent developer Stephen Morris today introduces BKSHLF 1.0 for iOS, a simple and elegant reading list for the modern reader. BKSHLF makes it easier than ever before to keep track of the books you want to read and the books you have enjoyed, whether digitally or in print.
BKSHLF is characterized foremost by its attractive and intuitive layout. Books are separated into three shelves - On My List, Reading, and Finished - and can be dragged from shelf to shelf as the user works through them. To add books to their shelves, users can search Goodreads's vast catalogue, or they can scan a book's barcode with their phone's camera. Users can also read descriptions of books before they dive into them, and link to purchase books on iBooks, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
"I wanted something that would make it easy to quickly look through the books I wanted to read when I was at the bookstore or library," said Morris. "I also found myself wanting a list of the books I'd read when friends would ask me for recommendations. BKSHLF was my way of solving those problems."
BKSHLF can also be integrated with Goodreads, the popular social network for readers. Users can link a Goodreads account to BKSHLF, and the app is synced with their basic shelves from Goodreads, removing the need to keep the two updated separately.
With all the different ways books are available today, and all the different sources they are available from, it can be difficult to keep track of what is out there to enjoy. BKSHLF aims to give readers a simple, beautiful, and useful tool for doing just that.
