Melbourne, Australia - Pierre Rodgers, a 14 year old developer from Melbourne, has just released Sol Alarm - Sunrise Alarm Simulator in the App Store. The app helps early risers all over the world to wake up, and in its first 12 hours it reached #36 in the Productivity Charts. Available today, Sol Alarm is an innovative alarm clock that uses the flashlight in your phone to help you wake up feeling more refreshed. It is an app for early risers all over the world who feel tired using their normal alarm clock. Sol aims to help these people get out of bed on time and feel good when they wake up.

Sol Alarm takes advantage of the flashlight in an iPhone. Thirty minutes before the user wakes up, the flashlight is turned on. After thirty minutes, a sound is played, just like a normal alarm clock. This simulates a sunrise and helps the user to wake up feeling rested. Before clocks were invented, the sun would wake people up. The sunlight would hit people's eyes and their eyes would wake up their bodies. Sol Alarm recreates this in the user's bedroom. When the light from the flashlight shines in the room, the light hits the user's eyes and stimulates cortisol production. This then starts to wake up the user's body, and when the alarm sound goes off, the user has already started to wake up. This leaves them feeling awake, refreshed and less groggy.

"Used it this morning. Woke up feeling as awake as I ever have."
"Got to school on time! I don't know how you knew it would work but it does!"
