DEVONtechnologies, LLC today updates all editions of its web research assistant DEVONagent and releases new versions of its popular freeware apps and services EasyFind, ThumbsUp, CalcService, WordService, and BlueService. Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - DEVONtechnologies, LLC updates all editions of its web research assistant DEVONagent and releases new versions of its popular freeware apps and services EasyFind, ThumbsUp, CalcService, WordService, and BlueService. The updates are free and recommended for all users.
DEVONagent helps the user find whatever he's looking for using the search engines of choice. Version 3.8.1 now uses Open Graph if available to better match web pages for even more accurate results. It also skips Amazon results. The updated MacUpdate plugin lets the user search for new software and the improved Twitter Accounts scanner lists all Twitter IDs on a web page.
DEVONthink Pro 3.8.1 executes menu scripts in the background now. So they no longer interrupt the user's important research work. All other background tasks are also handled more reliably. The update fixes an incompatibility to DEVONthink 2.7.6 and a few other issues, too.
The freeware CalcService, WordService, and BlueService services are now packaged as applications as required by the Mac App Store. They can be double-clicked and installed like any other application. Also, their service names show to which package their services belong. The free services add commands to the system-wide Services menu for conveniently manipulating text, make calculations, or send files to Bluetooth devices.
Finally, EasyFind 4.9.3 and ThumbsUp 4.5.2 clean up their user interface a bit and bring a few important bug fixes. EasyFind is a freeware utility to find files, ThumbsUp batch-processes images or creates thumbnails for them e.g. for using on a website.

All editions of DEVONagent and all freeware apps and services require an Intel-based Mac and OS X 10.6.8 or later (in the App Store: OS X 10.8.3 or later). They can be downloaded from DEVONtechnologies online and DEVONagent Pro and Express be test-driven for free before they need to be properly licensed. They are also available in the App Store; DEVONagent Pro can also be purchased together with DEVONthink Pro or Pro Office as Infoworker's Pro (Office) Bundle in DEVONtechnologies' online shop.
