instaJam encompasses audio layering technology, a multi-channel mixer, a drum machine, a looping machine and an effects processor to help musicians collaborate with each other in a unique way. Additionally, instaJam has a unique guitar tuner built into it that allows musicians to tune by ear right from their iPhone or utilize a built-in digital guitar tuner.

The application works as a multichannel mixer, audio-layering application with a smooth jam-session work-flow sitting on top of it. Powered by Amazon's cloud servers which track the workflows of each session, send email notifications, store each audio-layer, and store the song when it's completed it has the potential to support a large customer base. Each musician gets to record their music in a sequential workFlow that is configured when the session is created (i.e. drum first, guitar second, vocals third, etc.)

Additionally, each musician hears what the other person(s) preceeding them recorded as a backing track and add layers of sound through the audio layering technology built into the app. instaJam records the mic-line by itself while seamlessly mixing all of the layers contributed by others through a multi-channel mixer and back to the musician's ears.

Ultimately, at the end of the entire session instaJam mixes everything together into a final song and sends it as an email attachment to all of the musicians that collaborated on it. Songs can be shared in numerous ways from within the app (twitter, facebook, email)
