The 2014 Shark App Attack list of family-friendly, shark-themed apps for the little kids and big kids who find sharks fascinating has been announced. The list was created by reviewers and developers to give parents and kids an easy way to find Shark Week fun in the App Store. The list includes educational, book, game and utility apps. The site includes demo videos, ratings, links to reviews and notations for whether or not an app includes ads, social media links or in-app purchases.

Austin, Texas - It's Shark Week and to help little kids and big kids celebrate, a group of developers and reviewers have created a list of family-friendly, shark-themed apps called Shark App Attack. The apps include educational, book, game and utility apps to give parents and kids an easy way to find Shark Week fun in the App Store.

"Kids of all ages are intrigued by sharks as evidenced by the 'Sharknado' phenomenon and popularity of the Discovery Channel's Shark Week. So we thought it would be helpful to put together a list of shark-themed apps that were great for kids," said Karen Robertson of Treasure Bound Books.

Shark App Attack family favorite apps include:

"Treasure Kai and the Lost Gold of Shark Island" - Kids go on a quest for gold in this award-winning story book app that's a twist on the choose-your-adventure format. With thousands of paths to the treasure, kids read-play this story over and over. They can then watch a Fun Fact Video on how to make their own quicksand.

Did you know that a group of sharks is called a "shiver" and there are lots of other unusual names for groups of sea creature? Book app, "A Shiver of Sharks," reveals collective nouns for sea creatures while giving kids the chance to interact with them in entertaining ways.

Two nonfiction book apps, "Discovery Kid's Sharks" and "Ultimate Shark" provide facts, photos and videos about sharks for any kids wanting to learn more.

Have fun with game app, "Shark Dash," which has thousands of great reviews and find more apps at Shark App Attack.

The "Shark App Attack" site includes demo videos, ratings, links to reviews and notations for whether or not an app includes ads, social media links or in-app purchases, giving families an easy way to assess the right apps for them.
