Giglea Network Ltd has introduced Giglea 1.0 for iOS, a new kind of social network experience based on events and location-centric activities. Both a website and an app, Giglea focuses on event-based social networking that keeps memories alive after the encounter has ended. Giglea is both a website and an app, now available on iTunes, focuses on event-based social networking that keeps memories alive after the encounter has ended. Giglea takes the boredom and monotony out of current social networking apps. Users can set up events, known as "Gigs," discover events, attend, and comment on live, upcoming and past gigs alike.

"Social media can be great, but we've all had the disappointing experience of realizing that none of our friends are on when we are," said Mr. Anthony Musaluke. "The idea behind Giglea is to bring people together in physical events by connecting them on a unique social network. Our mantra is 'Taking Faces to Places.' We want people to have fun! Giglea features a host of distinctive capabilities, all geared towards bringing people together for an exciting social network experience: Geo-fenced gig creation enables users to locate events that are nearby. It's possible to find live, nearby and scheduled gigs on the app. A timeline of all activities lets users share what they are up to while being able to see what friends are doing or what they have planned ahead. The app makes possible extensive commenting with text, video or pictures. Users can be notified about comments. Comments and posts can be shared on Facebook and Twitter.

Users have the ability to create gigs that last only as long as the user is at a location. The app can also be set to restrict who can attend a gig via such criteria as age and dress code. Giglea has corporate and non-profit uses, as well. A user can set up a fundraiser gig on Giglea. Businesses can create gigs for sales, meal specials, or any other kind of promotion. The app has location-based capabilities to enable better interaction for geo-specific events in near real time.
