The new version includes support for high resolutions screens, an improved web-based project management module for the server product, better support for opening Microsoft Project 2013 files, custom filters, more predefined roles, support for creating custom filters and saving filters, and much more. Plus, starting with this version, RationalPlan is also available in Brazilian Portuguese language.

The new version includes support for high resolutions screens, an improved web-based project management module for the Server product, better support for opening Microsoft Project 2013 files, custom filters, more predefined roles and much more. Plus, starting with this version RationalPlan is also available in Brazilian Portuguese language.
RationalPlan started as an easy to use and straightforward project management software but it evolved into an embedded and powerful system that is now available even as a project management cloud service both for individuals and for companies that need a distributed solution with concurrent access from multiple users. There are important changes for this version.
For the online and server side segment the users will get:
* Improved web-based project management module
* A project guide
* More filters and settings
* New predefined roles (responsible and project manager)
Changes for the stand alone products include:
* Support for high resolution screens
* Added possibility to change application font size
* Added Brazilian Portuguese language
* Improved integration with Microsoft Project 2013 files
* Support for creating custom filters and saving filters
Online project planning is now easier to achieve with the new web-based interface from the RationalPlan Cloud solution. Although still in beta, users now have interactive Gantt charts, and access to manage risks and project details like info, notes, assumptions & constraints. Easy, straightforward, and available anywhere with access to a web browser.
The RationalPlan team puts the accent on simplicity and ease of use. Users need to understand quickly how to use the application in order to get productive. This is especially valid for first time users. The current version supports this philosophy by adding a project guide that take users step-by-step through the process of creating, planning and managing their projects.
New settings were added, like the ability to only show "In progress" assignments, or to send notifications when tasks become 100% complete. More than that, users can now login within their account and filter their assigments through various criteria including complete or incomplete assignments. On the administration side, new predefined roles were added like "Responsible" and "Project Manager". This allows a more flexible management for users' access rights.
When it comes to the desktop products several major improvements were made. First of all, the products are now available in Brazilian Portuguese language thanks to the help offered by Fernando Possebon, an IT Manager at TMSA - Tecnologia em Movimenta��o.
As technology evolved high DPI resolution screens were created. With this version RationalPlan added support for such screens on Windows operating systems. It is a matter of time until other operating systems will also support such hardware. On the same note users can now also change the font size within the entire application based on their needs.
Opening Microsoft Project files are not that easy because the .mpp file format is a binary one. For this version certain improvements were made to offer better support for 2013 files.
At users requests, new filters were added like a "Current project" filter in Timesheet view. Users can also now create custom filters and even save them for future use. This way it is easier to stay focused and keep track of data from one work session to another.

RationalPlan 4.11 is available for download and purchase for $57.00 (Single), and $98.00 (Multi) at the RationalPlan website. Versions are available for Mac OSX, Windows, and Linux.
