San Francisco, California - Smile, a developer of productivity applications for Mac, iPad and iPhone, is proud to announce the release of TextExpander 5, a major upgrade to the popular Mac typing shortcut tool. TextExpander 5 helps you type faster by making suggestions of frequently typed phrases to abbreviate and save time. It also helps to remind you of forgotten snippets as you type.
Pick how to sync your snippets by using any sync folder on your Mac. This includes iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, and other sync folders. In addition to a fresh Yosemite look, updated search lets you quickly scan through suggestions and user-defined snippets as you type. Using "fill-in-the-blank" snippets is faster now that the fill-in fields can be gathered at the top of the expansion window.
TextExpander 5 adds support for JavaScript for Automation, and JavaScript which works in the iPad and iPhone version of TextExpander. The refreshed stats display shows you how much time TextExpander has saved you.
"I love how TextExpander 5 tells me what I repeatedly type, and saves me from doing so in the future" said Smile founder, Philip Goward. "TextExpander 5 is indispensable for anyone communicating by email and social media."
