Puzzle Football is rendered in vivid retro pixel art, recalling the classic football video games of the 80s and 90s. The game is designed to fill the gap between simulation-style football games and more casual puzzle games. For players who love to play on the go, Puzzle Football creates a merger of sports and puzzle play; sessions can last only a few minutes, but the career of a player is persistent. This means that busy gamers can return to the game for small bouts off and on throughout the day.

The game showcases a lineup of fanciful and funny players, from leather helmet wearing vintage players, to modern pro-style players, and even some surprises, like a robot and a pirate.
