Quickly Share Photos with Groups of Users via Photo Clique 1.1 for iOS - Published on 08/14/15
Independent developer, Craig Cole has released Photo Clique 1.1, an important update to his group photo sharing app for iOS devices. Photo Clique allows anyone to set up their own sharing groups at events, allowing them to share photos, either as they take them, or directly from their Camera Roll. Users can share photos via either Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Version 1.1 includes reduced iOS version requirements for use, animated camera and photo library buttons, and minor UI tweaks.
Ellicott City, Maryland - Independent developer, Craig Cole has released Photo Clique 1.1, an important update to his group-based photo sharing app developed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. Photo Clique allows users to set up groups at events or parties, and immediately share photos as they are taken, or to share previously taken snapshots directly from their Camera Roll. The app creates a peer-to-peer network, facilitating the sharing of photos via both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The more users in the group, the larger the sharing network that is formed via the app.
Photo Clique allows anyone to share their photos with other users that are members of their group, without worrying if they are connected to a third-party service like Facebook or Tumblr. While the app does require everyone in the group be within the range of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, the more people that are using the app, the farther apart your clique can be. Even if users aren't sharing with each other, they act as a connection in the peer-to-peer network, moving photos and messages around to users who are active in the group.
"Using Photo Clique, anyone can open the app on their iOS device and then find and connect with other users of the app," says Craig Cole, creator of Photo Clique. "App users can be invited to a group, or request permission to join a group. From that point on, any photo taken with the app, or shared via the app is automatically shared to everyone in the group. Sharing photos like this greatly adds to the enjoyment of weddings, concerts, or other events where friends and family gather to have fun."
Photo Clique's killer feature is the ability to quickly share photos via Bluetooth, removing the worry about having an active cellular or Wi-Fi Internet connection. If the user is in the same Photo Clique group, any photos taken via the app are instantly shared with them via Bluetooth, and saved to their device. This direct sharing capability ensures everyone receives the photos, without the need to wait until later to check a social network for photo updates.
While Photo Clique does not require a live Internet connection to any social networks in order to share photos with other users, once group members do have access to a cellular or Wi-Fi Internet connection, they can easily share the photos they have collected via the app on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and other popular social sites.
What's New in Version 1.1:
* Reduced iOS version requirements for use
* Animated camera and photo library buttons at open offer hints at their ability to be moved by the user
* Minor User Interface tweaks
Photo Clique allows anyone to connect with one other person and try out the features of the app. If users like it, and they want share with more people at a time, a handy $1.99 in-app purchase offers full privileges, so users can also create and join multiple groups. The other members of a group do not have to make an in-app purchase to join, so getting others to join in and try out Photo Clique will be easy. In addition, the in-app purchase also turns off in-app advertisements, allowing use of all of the device's screen.
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus
* Requires iOS 8.0 or later
* Universal App
* 22.4 MB
Pricing and Availability:
Photo Clique 1.1 is free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Social Networking category. To have groups of more than two people requires one of the users to have purchased the app for $1.99. Purchasers can also form or join more than one group at a time. The $1.99 in-app purchase also turns off in-app advertising.
