Sydney based Cathy Lane Studios has announced Sam Plays Saxophone 1.0, a new interactive children's picture book app developed exclusively for the iPad. A fun filled app for children aged 4- 8 years old, this delightful musical story takes the reader along with Sam the Squirrel, on a journey of adventure to find musicians to help with his song. As the tale unfolds, the reader hears the individual sounds of each instrument, including Saxophone, Keyboard, Drums, Trumpet, Double Bass and Guitar.

Sydney, Australia - Cathy Lane Studios has announced the release of Sam Plays Saxophone 1.0, a new children's interactive picture book app for the iPad by Cathy Lane. This delightful musical story takes the reader along with Sam the Squirrel, on a journey of adventure to find Musicians to help with his song. Sam sails his tiny wee boat from the USA, across the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand and then on to Australia. On his quest for musicians he faces fierce ocean storms, wild deserts and deadly snakes.

Along the way Sam meets Kiwi, Roo, Snake, Croc and Dingo. As the tale unfolds the reader hears the individual sounds of each instrument: Saxophone, Keyboard, Drums, Trumpet, Double Bass and Guitar. They will learn about composing a song and hear the individual instruments used in a Jazz Band. Through interactive points on each page the child will become involved in the excitement of the story.

Cathy tells of her inspiration for the story. "Sam Plays Saxophone was inspired by my husband Gary and my new son-in-law Michael's constant search for new members for their bands. Both are talented musicians and contributed to the original music in the app. Michael plays the Tenor Saxophone and is originally from Nashville Tennessee in the USA. Now he lives here in Australia with our daughter Alison. In many ways this is his story."
