Augmented reality games are all the rage nowadays not only because of the completely new experience that it offers but also for the relatively better way in which it immerses players into the game. The First-person shooters are one of the best platforms to apply the mentioned technology; a fact and opportunity which AR Master Shooter eagerly jumped on. And once players have given it a try, they'll certainly agree that the game shows plenty of promise.
AR Master Shooter seems to be one of the pioneers of augmented reality FPS games. Media4 had one goal in mind when they created AR Master Shooter - to put gamers in the shoes of the actual shooter. In this game, players are the one who does most of the action (aiming, drawing, shooting, etc.), and they have their immediate surroundings as the actual gaming environment. And as in most traditional mobile shooting games, all efforts and progress would be rewarded with credits and an increase in rank.
There are a couple of steps that players need to do in order to ensure the game runs smoothly: print out the game's special AR marker from the link, which can be found in the description of the game in the App Store, place it on a flat surface and focus the iPhone's camera on it in order to synchronize the game completely with the surrounding environment. In case the phone cannot detect the marker within 10 seconds, the game will be switched to a sensor mode, so games can continue playing. But, the using the AR marker provides a better shooting experience - players will be able to change the distance of shooting and move around the area.
Upon starting the game, players will find different targets to hit: bull's eyes or bad guys that are often seen in target practice. But be careful - don't shoot the hostages or civilians, otherwise, the score will be reduced! Each level has a specific objective for players to finish, and of course, they can only expect them to become harder as they progress.
