Helsinki, Finland - Independent developer, Heikki Ohvo is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of MacFlatplan 3.0, his desktop publication mapping app for macOS. The app allows users to make and view a map of a publication, including all articles and advertisements, easily viewing how they are laid out, and in what order. All page contents can be moved by dragging and dropping the contents to their new location. Color schemas and publication information can be imported from other flat plan documents.
MacFlatplan is an excellent, easy-to-use flat plan solution for small publishing houses and design companies. Publications can be handled as print sections or as a whole. The application allows the user to view a color-coded map of their publication and its pages. By doing so, it provides a complete overview of the location, page number, and category of the content of each and every page.
"MacFlatplan is a perfect solution for anyone who does magazines or publications," says developer Heikki Ohvo. "MacFlatplan's color-coding and drag-and-drop interface keeps design and pagination simple and intuitive. There are no limitations to how many documents or pages can be used; the price is always the same."
MacFlatplan eliminates the need for a physical paste-up of a publication, allowing users to make changes on the fly when the need arises to arrange and sequence pages and keep track of advertising pages as they are sold. This eliminates the trial and error approach formerly employed to arrange editorial and advertising pages into a fixed number of smoothly flowing pages free of any gaping content holes or blank pages.
All display and arranging of a publication's pages are now done on the Mac desktop, using MacFlatplan. Page sizing is adjustable, the print sections of a fixed number of pages may be specified, and page content may be color-coded by 1/4, 1/2, or full pages.
Features:
* Create as many MacFlatplan documents as desired
* Arrange a layout an unlimited number of pages per publication
* Import colors and the publication information from any other MacFlatplan document
* Drag-and-drop pages to a new location in the document
* Handle any publication as individual print sections or as one whole
* Copy and paste page contents
* Import pictures on the pages (pdf, tiff, png, and jpg formats)
* Create a custom page library for use in all publication planning.
* Freely select the window or printing paper size
* Publications automatically wrapped up according to the available space
* One flat registration fee, no other fees are charged
While MacFlatplan is not a full-blown magazine desktop publishing program like InDesign or QuarkXPress, it does allow users to track the order of their finished pages and the empty pages as well as the space remaining. It can also act as an invaluable guide to the printer during pre-press planning.
The application includes a variety of options for customization, allowing to best suit the current project's needs. Users can specify specific page dimensions or use a generic size. he programs primary feature - color coding - is quite easy to create. A user selects a color, then assigns a label to it, such as "Advertising." Any additional number of color codes can be created, such as Art, Photos, Articles, Editorials, etc.
A publication can be worked with as a whole, or print sections containing a fixed number of pages can be specified. There is no limit to the number of pages, print sections, pages in a print section, or color codes.
Users can display each page as a whole, as two halves, or as four quarters. Using this ability, up to four different color codes per page can be displayed. Re-ordering pages is a simple drag-and-drop operation, and all preferences, specifications, and color codes can be quickly imported from previous projects.
Device Requirements:
* OS X 10.10 Yosemite or higher
* macOS 10.15 Catalina compatible
* 64-bit processor
* 25.9 MB
