Bigo Bjuo has introduced PicoToons Coloring Book 1.0 for iPad, their new interactive art app for kids ages 3-9. Children can express their creativity with more than 130 professionally illustrated pictures organized in 5 different categories. PicoToons Coloring Book includes 3 difficulty levels, and a customizable child-lock feature. Each difficulty level comes with its own set of drawing and painting tools to accommodate users at different learning stages.
Pajeczno, Poland - Bigo Bjuo has announced the release of PicoToons Coloring Book 1.0, their new interactive coloring application for iPad devices. Specifically designed for kids ages 3-9, PicoToons Coloring Book encourages children to express their creativity with more than 130 professionally illustrated, toon-related pictures.
"I was impressed by the extensive painting and coloring features in PicoToons Coloring Book," says Julie Peterson of Fun Educational Apps (2 Apr 2014). "Thoughtfully created and expertly designed, PicoToons offers children an age appropriate way to express themselves artistically. Fun Educational Apps names PicoToons Coloring Book as our latest Top Pick in the category of art apps for children."
Coloring pages are grouped by theme within each of the various Coloring Books. There are five different categories including Animals, Occupations, Faires and Friends, Robots, and Creatures. PicoToons Coloring Book also includes a Sketchbook where Intermediate and Advanced users can create free-hand illustrations.
Feature Highlights:
* Colorful and simple User Interface
* Over 130 professionally illustrated pictures
* Wide variety of tools for drawing, painting, and special effects
* 3 levels of difficulty with different toolsets
* Customizable child-lock option
* Sketchbook available for intermediate to advanced users
* Magic Particles tool with over 30 particles for special effects
* Over 80 ready-to-use stickers
* Extensive color palette that includes 80 colors and 40 textures
* Undo/redo functionality
* Built-in gallery
* Autosave settings
* Child-friendly with no in-app purchases or external links exposed to children
To accommodate users at different learning stages, PicoToons Coloring Book has three different levels of difficulty: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. The Beginner level is designed for kids ages 3 and under, the Intermediate level targets children ages 4 and over, and the Advanced level is for kids ages 5 and over. All levels and their features can be modified in the User Interface portion of Settings.
Although Coloring pages look the same for each difficulty level, some tools are modified for the Beginner and Intermediate levels. For example, the "Fill" tool completely colors in grouped elements of a given drawing and is the only tool available at the Beginner level. This makes it simpler for younger children to completely fill in the pages with color.
"One of my favorite things about this app is the huge color palette it includes - not only are there lots of different colors and shades to choose from but also a huge range of detailed colored patterns which make it easy to create some very unusual and interesting pictures," comments The iMums (3 Apr 2014). "There are many, many coloring apps on the market but I do feel PicoToons Coloring Book stands out from the crowd."
PicoToons Coloring Book has a large array of tools for drawing and painting. Several of these tools simulate real-life drawing tools while others are designed to create special effects. The PicoToons toolbox includes:
* Fill tool
* Pencil
* Crayon
* Marker
* Brush
* Spray
* Sticker tool
* Letters tool (Advanced level only)
* Magic Particles tool (Advanced level only)
The different art tools are grouped into a small toolbar at the bottom of the screen so the canvas can be as large as possible. The toolbar changes according to the difficulty level. For example, the Magic Particles tool is only available to Advanced users. Specific tool settings for Intermediate and Advanced users can be found within a hidden panel.
"There is no doubt that this app will keep children engaged and entertained for hours, especially children who love to color and draw," says Lamisha Serf of Best Apps for Kids (3 Apr 2014), who rated the app with 5 stars and named it a "Best of the Best" app. "Overall this is probably one of the best creativity apps I have seen simply because of the variety of colors, options, coloring pages, and the detail that is included. Children and parents will not be disappointed with all that PicoToons Coloring Book has to offer."
PicoToons Coloring Book offers users the option to save the art they create in the Application's Gallery. There is also an Autosave feature that automatically saves drawings when the user exits the Coloring Page. Each saved drawing can be edited later and users can set a limit to the maximum number of drawings saved to the gallery.
PicoToons Coloring Book has a customizable child-lock feature that enables parents to lock certain functions of the game. For example, parents can determine whether children will be able to save their drawings or copy their pictures to the camera roll. Parents can also lock a user within a single Coloring Book and/or Coloring Sheet. PicoToons Coloring Book is child-friendly with no in-app purchases or external links exposed to children.
"PicoToons Coloring Book is a very enjoyable art app that encourages creativity in kids," says Bigo Bjuo founder, Boleslaw Walczyk. "What's unique about PicoToons is its beautifully illustrated pictures and its toolbox, with its vast number of intriguing tools available for drawing, painting, and special effects. In addition to the standard art tools, we've included a Letters tool, a Stickers tool, and - the icing on the cake - a Magic Particles tool. I'm particularly excited about the Magic Particles tool as it allows kids to draw with their choice of over 30 particles, including bubbles, grass, fur, stars, snowflakes, and leaves! We've also designed the app to meet the needs and pique the interest of children at different learning stages. PicoToons Coloring Book is a fresh, fun, and unique art application that both kids and parents will adore."
