Detroit, Michigan - Transforming the modern art world from paint to pixels, What You See, LLC has announced the release of Alda 1.0, their new social drawing game for iPhone and iPad devices. Alda is a one-of-a-kind drawing competition among friends with the simple objective to bring the creativity out of all of us. This app was designed specifically to discover your "inner artiste" and determines who is the most creative among friends.
To play, users choose among the shapes/symbols, avatars and color palates available with the free package. Using one single shape as a base to create and let the "Picasso within" run free, users play alone or compete with multiple users to expand upon the original shape in a timed challenge. As challengers complete their drawings, users can vote independently and anonymously on the best drawing.
"I wanted to create a game based on what we used to do with our kids," said Garfield Lemonious, CEO of What You See, LLC. "From an early age, my wife and I loved having family drawing competitions just before dinner. It started as a way to bring the kids to the table. But it ended up being a fun game that we shared with our friends and family."
The winning photos from daily challenges are displayed on each users' app home page so that others outside of the challenge group can like the artwork and increase its popularity within the app. Winners of these daily challenges are displayed on the main screen of the app as well as on Facebook. Users outside of the group, can "Like" the new piece of art then increasing its popularity and thus trending higher in the app.
"I wanted to share with the world, what my family has been enjoying for years," said Garfield Lemonious when asked why he decided to build Alda. "During beta testing, all my friends, colleagues and my kids' friends have been really enjoying playing and challenging each other. They are very excited for the release of Alda and can't wait to challenge more of their friends."
Lemonious already sees additional uses for his drawing app that he says is, "An awesome mental exercise that promotes creativity and stimulates thinking." He believes that Alda has multiple uses beyond gaming and could have meaningful purpose in an educational setting or health care environment to benefit autistic, Alzheimer's or geriatric patients.
