The Chocolate Lab Youth Scholarship Program's goal is to change the lives and opportunities of young people around the world, by allowing them access to cutting edge education on mobile apps, business and online marketing. Kids get started in the app business for free. For every online app course bought, the company will donate one free app course to a young student somewhere in the world.
Dublin, Ireland - Getting access to mobile technology education is something that is still a major issue in most countries in the world - whether it's a local school in Texas or a rural school in South America. For young students around the world, getting access to practical information on how to publish an app, learning about app store optimization and app marketing, is something that is not very accessible.
Elaine Heney from Chocolate Lab Apps is one example of how someone with drive & passion can start a tech business and succeed - outside the geographic restrictions of Palo Alto and without a technical background.
"Not everyone lives in Silicon Valley. I've build a very profitable app publishing business from Ireland. I don't do any of the coding myself. One of the main issues I found is that practical proven advice on starting an app business is very difficult to find on the internet."
To remedy this situation, Heney now teaches app entrepreneurship the Chocolate Lab Mobile App University, but wanted to take it one step further.
"I wanted to create a program so kids - anywhere in the world - could get started in the app business for free" says Heney. "I strongly believe that 'CEO' is just as valid a career choice for young people as becoming a doctor, mechanic or bartender. And I wanted to bring them the information they need to make this a reality."
Today, her company Chocolate Lab Apps has announced a new scholarship program for kids. For every online app course bought, Heney will donate one free app course to a young student somewhere in the world - from Eastern Europe to Peru & beyond. By 2015 she aims to donate online app courses to young students in every county in the world.
"My goal is to donate app business courses to every country in the world by 2015. I want to help as many students as possible improve their technology and mobile app skills & create a better future for them & their families".

With their high spatial resolution, the point and pro forecasts are especially useful in coastal and mountainous regions, where typical zone forecasts can be inaccurate. These forecasts are backed up by a regional text forecast bulletin for additional information.
Wx also lets users setup weather maps for quick reference. Users can choose from over 40 default NWS maps and images, or provide the URL for any map of interest and load it right in the app. This allows users to access their favorite weather maps and images from preferred weather providers and keep them handy. Ready-K! incentivizes play by adding an interactive element in the form of a cartoon dog named Bacci. For each scene, Bacci challenges the child to help him complete a special trick. With each correct answer, Bacci rewards the child by advancing towards completion of the trick. When 8 correct answers are recorded, Bacci will entertain the child with the entire trick.

Version 4 can protect an EPUB file by embedding a reader and licensing process in the protected document, improved PDF protection and more.

DocProtect allows an author to protect popular file types to ensure that documents are only viewable on licensed computers. Version 4 can protect an EPUB file by embedding a reader and licensing process in the protected document. Popular video and audio file formats can be protected including .wmv, .mov, .avi, .mp4 and .f4v. The video plays within a simple, secure player window that does not allow the video to be shared or saved to other computers without an activated license. The user can start and stop the video, adjust the volume, move and resize the window using standard player controls. A Flash file (SWF) can also be converted to a protected application.
A collection of HTML files, scripts, CSS and images can be compiled into a protected Mac or Windows application with a custom icon. When running on the customer computer, a browser window with back and forward buttons allows link navigation to pages embedded within the application or external pages on the Internet. Source files and URLs are hidden from the user.
A PDF document can be protected with copy, export or save feature restriction while using the standard viewing capabilities in the current Adobe Reader with backward compatibility to version 8. With a Group license, when one protected application in the group is activated, all are activated for that computer. A Group license can be applied to any documents including an HTML project.
In addition to delivering a protected document as a Mac or Windows application, DocProtect 4 supports a new delivery vehicle, the SafeWebApp viewer. DocProtect can generate a protected file that is activated for a specific device and viewed within SafeWebApp running on a variety of platforms.
SafeWebApp is a free viewer application that currently runs on Mac, Windows, Linux and Android. It is typically used to secure and present web content to activated customer devices. SafeWebApp has been enhanced to present DocProtect generated files that can contain an EPUB, video, SWF, PDF or an HTML collection.

Excel Software announces DocProtect 4 for Mac OS X and Windows. DocProtect allows an author to protect popular file types to ensure that documents are only viewable on licensed computers. Protect EPUB, PDF, SWF, video, image or HTML files. DocProtect applies a computer unique password or online activation process to a Protected Document. Version 4 can protect an EPUB file by embedding a reader and licensing process in the protected document, improved PDF protection and more.
Henderson, Nevada - Excel Software is proud to announce the release of DocProtect 4 for Mac OS X and Windows. DocProtect allows an author to protect popular file types to ensure that documents are only viewable on licensed computers. Version 4 can protect an EPUB file by embedding a reader and licensing process in the protected document. Other enhancements include improved PDF protection that supports the latest versions of Adobe Reader and new versions of the Mac and Windows OS.
DocProtect converts a document into a protected Mac or Windows application using a computer unique password or a fully automated online activation process with Serial Numbers. To enable online activation, DocProtect can be used with a vendor account on the Safe Activation Service or with WebActivation or Desktop License Server running on a company website.
DocProtect works independently or together with the QuickLicense protection and licensing system. DocProtect 4 supports the new licensing features in QuickLicense 7 like the ability to extend a time-limited license with an Expiration Code, a custom pre-activation message, plus Trial, Product, Try/Buy, Subscription and Floating license types. DocProtect supports QuickLicense Server to enable a vendor to distribute a true floating license server with their protected applications that runs on a customer network without Internet access.
EPUB is an eBook standard designed for reflowable content. EPUB has received widespread adoption by publishers and software developers that make readers for various computers and devices. The runtime software in DocProtect 4 was enhanced to include an EPUB reader for Mac and Windows.
Popular video and audio file formats can be protected including .wmv, .mov, .avi, .mp4 and .f4v. The video plays within a simple, secure player window that does not allow the video to be shared or saved to other computers without an activated license. The user can start and stop the video, adjust the volume, move and resize the window using standard player controls. A Flash file (SWF) can also be converted to a protected application.
A collection of HTML files, scripts, CSS and images can be compiled into a protected Mac or Windows application with a custom icon. When running on the customer computer, a browser window with back and forward buttons allows link navigation to pages embedded within the application or external pages on the Internet. Source files and URLs are hidden from the user.
A PDF document can be protected with copy, export or save feature restriction while using the standard viewing capabilities in the current Adobe Reader with backward compatibility to version 8. With a Group license, when one protected application in the group is activated, all are activated for that computer. A Group license can be applied to any documents including an HTML project.
In addition to delivering a protected document as a Mac or Windows application, DocProtect 4 supports a new delivery vehicle, the SafeWebApp viewer. DocProtect can generate a protected file that is activated for a specific device and viewed within SafeWebApp running on a variety of platforms.
SafeWebApp is a free viewer application that currently runs on Mac, Windows, Linux and Android. It is typically used to secure and present web content to activated customer devices. SafeWebApp has been enhanced to present DocProtect generated files that can contain an EPUB, video, SWF, PDF or an HTML collection.

North Canton, Ohio - Squirrels LLC is launching Slingshot, an application allowing iOS screen sharing to anywhere in the world. Slingshot is a service-based application that allows users to connect with others and share their device screen, files and ideas with others. The service is set to launch on May 1, 2014.
"Slingshot is revolutionary," Squirrels president David Stanfill said. "We really think it's going to change the online meeting and collaboration game. Sharing is no longer limited to the same room or building. It can happen from anywhere."
Slingshot will allow users to share their iPad(R), iPhone(R) and iPod(R) screens to anyone else in a Slingshot session. Mac(R) and PC screens can also be shared and viewed by anyone in a session.
"Slingshot users can mirror their phone screen to a computer or even another user on a phone," Stanfill said. "We designed Slingshot to work with the most common phones, tablets and computers."
While the service highlights mobile screen sharing, it includes online collaboration and meeting tools, too. Meeting Minutes allows anyone in a session to take collaborative notes in real time, and instant file sharing shares files with everyone in a session regardless of the device they're using. Video, audio and text chat are available across all devices, too.
"We wanted to create a solution for people who need to collaborate and share from their phones and tablets," Squirrels co-founder Andrew Gould said. "Slingshot is the first service to allow screen sharing to anywhere in the world. We want all of our users to experience Slingshot at full potential. The trial does that by allowing group collaboration and sharing."

Multiple monthly plan subscriptions are available but users can first try Slingshot free for 30 days. The individual plan allows one-on-one collaboration and screen sharing for $9.99 USD. Other plans are available that allow more users, more webcam feeds, dial-in access and more concurrent sessions. It helps ensure both you and your puppy get off to the best possible start and helps to promote use of rescue shelters and better dog breeding. The app also provides info to help educate new owners about the awful use of puppy farms & traders with an aim to help eradicate this practise whilst promoting better dog breeding.
Reading, United Kingdom - Puppy Paws is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of their new Puppy Paws iOS app. Finding a puppy can be quite a task; add to that all of the preparation that is needed to be ready, and that's before the real work begins once you and your new puppy are at home together. The Puppy Paws app has been designed and developed to:
* Help potential puppy owners to compile and compare a list of puppies that may be suitable
* Prepare for the home coming day so they and their new puppy get off to the best start
* Offer ongoing support as you and your puppy settle in to a daily routine together

"It was a throw-away comment that got the ball rolling! After searching for our own dogs over several years, we realised that finding the right puppy isn't an easy task. We found ourselves preparing paper lists of potential puppies and the parents' health tests which soon became spreadsheets that got bigger and bigger. Then once we'd found a puppy the same process started again as we prepared for them coming home. We were trying to digest all of the information that's available in an aim to make sure we were really ready and that we hadn't missed anything along the way."
"Somewhere along the line, someone in my family said I wish there was an app for this! So the seed was sown.
