"So many times I would want to listen to music, but found it a chore to scroll through Apple's app," explained Andrew Kazmierski, founder of Appothecary. "Stereo is a little like a reinvention of the jukebox, or the digital equivalent of thumbing through a vinyl record collection. Music choices become a fun thing. Stereo was made for love of the practical in service of the intuitive."
Developer Andrew Kazmierski worked with Phill Ryu to create iPhone pioneer "Classics" in 2008. Classics topped the charts at #4, accrued over 1.5 million downloads, was featured in Apple's TV ads, and led to Apple's creation of "iBooks" with its realistic visual bookcase & tactile page turns. Stereo represents Kazmierski's return to software, inspired by rare extremes of the mind and passion for innovation, on top of past success.

Webpractice has now published a new Jazz App for beginners and schools. Jazz Trumpet Level 1 gives music students an incredible practice tool by allowing almost complete control of the playback. The new app also allows users to isolate and even loop any trouble areas of a song and that makes music practice much more fun and productive. Jazz Trumpet Level 1 contains the three Bits and Pieces songs with each version having its own variation of the melody and different backing track.

The app gives music students an incredible practice tool by allowing almost complete control of the playback on dlp's backing tracks- including the melody only tracks. The eto folks have done a great job of giving learners the ability to control their practice routines and practise at their own pace, working gradually up to each performance tempo. The new app also allows users to isolate and even loop any trouble areas of a song and that makes music practice much more fun and productive.
The app's music basis is the tried, tested and well respected playalong material of the Dallas Music School (dlp) Jazz Book series; Trumpet Level 1. This app contains the three Bits and Pieces songs with each version having its own variation of the melody and different backing track. A full, real live jazz combo is there with which you can practice and play 24/7. The first, Bits and Pieces 1, has a range of notes from D to B (trumpet pitch) and is a really cool melody with swing 8s.
Bits and Pieces 2 pushes you to play E to D (trumpet pitch) with a more rhythmically sophisticated melody in a Latin feel with straight 8s. The third Bits and Pieces 3, has a Latin straight 8 feel first time through and a cool swing second time. The note range is the same as Bits and Pieces 2 but you are extended because there is a more chromatic flavour to the new melody....introducing you to to some sharps and flats.
Don't worry; as was at the beginning you can slow up the melody and the backing track, isolate difficult sections and work at your own pace; with or without the melody playing, with or without the accompaniment playing.

About Jenifer Toksvig:
Jenifer Toksvig was born in New York, grew up in England, and feels very at home in Denmark. As a writer of musicals, she's written many original stories and adaptations for young people to perform, including: The Curious Quest for the Sandman's Sand, Skool & Crossbones, Shake, Ripple & Roll, Pandemonium! (a Greek Myth-adventure) and The Nutcracker with composer David Perkins; Terry Pratchett's Mort with composer Dominic Haslam; The Queen of Snow and Geraldine McCaughrean's The Stones Are Hatching with composer Alexander Rudd. In other work, with her company The Copenhagen Interpretation, Jenifer explores the crossover world of theatre and gaming, experimenting with new ways for audiences to engage with live and transmedia performance.
One of these explorations is an adaptation of Sandi Toksvig's novel Hitler's Canary. Jenifer also makes work in collectives of creative friends. Such tribal work includes The Chaosbaby Project and Seeing Red. She's a keen proponent of Open Space Technology, is a member of every union and support group going, and a keen advocate for the rights of writers, and opportunities for the support and development of new work, especially in facilitating the taking of risks, and advancement of the form of musical theatre in particular, and storytelling in general. About Sandi Toksvig:
Sandi Toksvig began her education in New York, and later attained a First Class honours degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at Girton College, Cambridge. At Cambridge she was awarded the Theresa Montefiore Memorial Award for outstanding academic achievement. She appeared in a variety of Footlights shows and was the director and writer of, and a performer in the first all-female Cambridge Revue. Theatre credits include seasons with the Nottingham Playhouse and the New Shakespeare Company at Regents Park, and in The Pocket Dream, which she also co-wrote, at the Albery Theatre, London, and the musical Big Night Out with songs by Dillie Keane.
Television credits include No 73 (TVS), Behind the Headlines, The Big One with Mike McShane, Have I Got News for You, Island Race with John McCarthy, Whose Line is it Anyway? and Call My Bluff. Sandi was one of the original members of the Comedy Store Players. Sandi appears on many Radio 4 programmes and is the presenter of the travel programme Excess Baggage and chair of The News Quiz. In 2007 she was voted Broadcaster of the Year by the Broadcast Press Guild and Channel 4 Political Humorist of the Year. She has written 18 books, and regular columns for the Sunday Telegraph and Good Housekeeping. She is currently chancellor of Portsmouth University, and was recognised with an OBE in the 2014 New Year honours list.

About Jenifer Toksvig:
Jenifer Toksvig was born in New York, grew up in England, and feels very at home in Denmark. As a writer of musicals, she's written many original stories and adaptations for young people to perform, including: The Curious Quest for the Sandman's Sand, Skool & Crossbones, Shake, Ripple & Roll, Pandemonium! (a Greek Myth-adventure) and The Nutcracker with composer David Perkins; Terry Pratchett's Mort with composer Dominic Haslam; The Queen of Snow and Geraldine McCaughrean's The Stones Are Hatching with composer Alexander Rudd. In other work, with her company The Copenhagen Interpretation, Jenifer explores the crossover world of theatre and gaming, experimenting with new ways for audiences to engage with live and transmedia performance.
One of these explorations is an adaptation of Sandi Toksvig's novel Hitler's Canary. Jenifer also makes work in collectives of creative friends. Such tribal work includes The Chaosbaby Project and Seeing Red. She's a keen proponent of Open Space Technology, is a member of every union and support group going, and a keen advocate for the rights of writers, and opportunities for the support and development of new work, especially in facilitating the taking of risks, and advancement of the form of musical theatre in particular, and storytelling in general. In her spare time, of which there is none, Jenifer likes to knit, loves gatherings of loved ones for Sunday lunch, and really wants a dog.
About Sandi Toksvig:
Sandi Toksvig began her education in New York, and later attained a First Class honours degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at Girton College, Cambridge. At Cambridge she was awarded the Theresa Montefiore Memorial Award for outstanding academic achievement. She appeared in a variety of Footlights shows and was the director and writer of, and a performer in the first all-female Cambridge Revue. Theatre credits include seasons with the Nottingham Playhouse and the New Shakespeare Company at Regents Park, and in The Pocket Dream, which she also co-wrote, at the Albery Theatre, London, and the musical Big Night Out with songs by Dillie Keane.
Television credits include No 73 (TVS), Behind the Headlines, The Big One with Mike McShane, Have I Got News for You, Island Race with John McCarthy, Whose Line is it Anyway? and Call My Bluff. Sandi was one of the original members of the Comedy Store Players. Sandi appears on many Radio 4 programmes and is the presenter of the travel programme Excess Baggage and chair of The News Quiz. In 2007 she was voted Broadcaster of the Year by the Broadcast Press Guild and Channel 4 Political Humorist of the Year. She has written 18 books, and regular columns for the Sunday Telegraph and Good Housekeeping. She is currently chancellor of Portsmouth University, and was recognised with an OBE in the 2014 New Year honours list.
