Texas based developer, Magnin & Associates has released Model Railroad Set 1.0, their new game title on Apple TV. Model Railroad Set lets you relive the childhood joy of playing with a virtual model train set. Create your own model railroad from an extensive menu of train cars, track pieces, roadways, automobiles, rivers, buildings, trees and other items. The free version allows driving the train on several built-in layouts or any that you receive via email (using iOS v1.2 ) from friends.

The free version allows driving the train on our several built-in layouts or any that you receive via email (using iOS v1.2 ) from friends. Move the train forwards and backwards, faster or slower. Honk the horn. Operate upcoming switches. Instantly change between multiple camera angles to view and follow the train.
Purchase the optional Train Builder Kit to build your own train layout and share it via email with your friends. Others only need the free version and your email. Create your own model railroad from our extensive menu of train cars, track pieces, roadways, automobiles, rivers, buildings, trees and other items. Automobiles automatically follow the roadway, and stop at train crossings. Windmills and Merry Go Rounds are animated. Purchase the Train Builder Kit as an In-App purchase on either iOS or Apple TV and use on both. Layouts are stored in the cloud and accessible from both. Email your layout (using iOS device) to a friend and they can easily download the free version to play. They can later purchase the Train Builder Kit to add additional features themselves.
The game was produced by Ed Magnin, programmed by Scott Fontenarosa with Tony Aguiaga, and Ed Magnin, graphics by Daisuke Oka, Joe Eisma, and David Ryan Lutz. Matt Campana created the music, and the excellent audio effects.
According to Ed Magnin, "This release is part of our strategy of releasing some of our popular iOS games on Apple TV, where we can show off their excellent graphics and sound in a larger format."

Berkeley, California - Creekcats LLC is today proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Il Menu Dice 2.1, an important update to their free English to Italian menu translator for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. More than just a word translator, the app is designed to make ordering from a menu easier. An entire column of a menu can be translated at one time, and results are presented in bold type with each line of the original menu immediately followed by its translation, so the traveler can point to what they want to order. Users simply take a photo of the menu, crop as needed, and tap "Translate." Il Menu Dice immediately handles the translation, resulting in an understandable menu for users to read and order from.
"Il Menu Dice" is Italian for "The Menu Says," which is the perfect way to describe exactly what the app does. While creating Il Menu Dice, developers created a list of over 37,000 menu-related phrases, which they translated from English to Italian. The resulting phrase dictionary is the basis of the new app's translation abilities.

* It is designed specifically to make it easy to order from a translated menu: Each line of the menu is followed by its translation. "Le Menu Dit was well received by users, and we were very happy with the initial reception," says Phil Price, inventor of the app. "In fact, the app was so well received that we decided to expand our app lineup by developing an app for use by Italian speaking travelers. In addition to Il Menu Dice, we are also working on translation apps to allow Chinese speakers to order from English menus, and for English speaking travelers to order from French menus. We're very excited about our plans."
The idea for the original app, Le Menu Dit 1.0, came to Phil while biking along the Danube with his family. When the group stopped for dinner, they were unable to order from a German menu, even though Phil knew a smattering of German. When the group attempted to use a popular translation app, (Word Lens), the app proved frustrating to use and the results were poor.
"I said out loud, 'This is awful! I could write a better app myself!'" shared Phil. "My mother challenged me with, 'If you do, I will happily invest in it.' And that's how Le Menu Dit came to be." Upon returning from their trip, Phil and his two friends, Nathan Addy and Yixing (Ethan) Chen, set to work on developing the original app.
What's New in Version 2.1:
The app now detects and warn when system settings don't allow use of the camera; and the app store description has been corrected.
Unlike most other translation apps for iOS device, Il Menu Dice doesn't try to be an all-purpose translation tool. Instead, it concentrates on doing one thing particularly well, quickly translating menus from English to Italian and presenting the translation in a way that makes it easy for users to point to what they want to order. There are no complicated procedures to learn, or confusing icons that must be tapped in the proper order. Menu translation is merely a matter of point, shoot, crop, and wait a moment for the translation.

More than just a word translator, the app is designed to make ordering from a menu easier. An entire column of a menu can be translated at one time, and results are presented in bold type with each line of the original menu immediately followed by its translation, so the traveler can point to what they want to order. Users simply take a photo of the menu, crop as needed, and tap "Translate." Il Menu Dice immediately handles the translation, resulting in an understandable menu for users to read and order from.
"Il Menu Dice" is Italian for "The Menu Says," which is the perfect way to describe exactly what the app does. While creating Il Menu Dice, developers created a list of over 37,000 menu-related phrases, which they translated from English to Italian. The resulting phrase dictionary is the basis of the new app's translation abilities.

Following the release of their popular English to French menu translator, "Le Menu Dit" app inventor Phil Price realized the need for an app to translate menus for other non-English speaking travelers. Il Menu Dice is the first result of his decision to expand his menu translator app lineup.
"Le Menu Dit was well received by users, and we were very happy with the initial reception," says Phil Price, inventor of the app. "In fact, the app was so well received that we decided to expand our app lineup by developing an app for use by Italian speaking travelers. In addition to Il Menu Dice, we are also working on translation apps to allow Chinese speakers to order from English menus, and for English speaking travelers to order from French menus. We're very excited about our plans."
The idea for the original app, Le Menu Dit 1.0, came to Phil while biking along the Danube with his family. When the group stopped for dinner, they were unable to order from a German menu, even though Phil knew a smattering of German. When the group attempted to use a popular translation app, (Word Lens), the app proved frustrating to use and the results were poor.
"I said out loud, 'This is awful! I could write a better app myself!'" shared Phil. "My mother challenged me with, 'If you do, I will happily invest in it.' And that's how Le Menu Dit came to be." Upon returning from their trip, Phil and his two friends, Nathan Addy and Yixing (Ethan) Chen, set to work on developing the original app.
What's New in Version 2.1:
The app now detects and warn when system settings don't allow use of the camera; and the app store description has been corrected.
Unlike most other translation apps for iOS device, Il Menu Dice doesn't try to be an all-purpose translation tool. Instead, it concentrates on doing one thing particularly well, quickly translating menus from English to Italian and presenting the translation in a way that makes it easy for users to point to what they want to order. There are no complicated procedures to learn, or confusing icons that must be tapped in the proper order. Menu translation is merely a matter of point, shoot, crop, and wait a moment for the translation.
