UK based Pigobo has announced they are working on 'Story Box' - from the original creator of "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos." Story Box is a co-operative platform for children, parents and teachers, empowering them to read and create fun 3D interactive learning experiences. From reading classic fairy tales, learning all about the world or even learning another language, Story Box's Story Sets will provide infinite possibilities for learning and creation.
Aldershot, United Kingdom - Pigobo has announced Story Box for iOS and Android mobile devices. Pigobo's director 'Simon Keating', character designer and creator of the platinum selling Croc: Legend of The Gobbos, says that Story Box is a platform for creating, playing, learning and sharing experiences, all in full 3D.
Story Box is aimed for co-operative use between teachers, parents and young children and is heavily influenced by the art style and worlds of Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos (the classic 3D platform game released on Playstation 2 in 1997).
Unlike other children's story apps, Story Box will give the user the complete experience. From reading classic fairy tales, learning all about the world or even learning another language, Story Box's expandable Story Sets will provide infinite possibilities for learning and creation.
Although the project is currently in development, Pigobo will shortly announce a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the completion of the project. Kickstarter backers will receive a variety of rewards for their help including free content and even some of the original Croc storyboard art is up for grabs.
Initially, the app will be released on iOS and Android platforms with Windows tablets and a web version also on the horizon. Estimated release date for Story Box is currently Q4 2014.

The app does much more than liberate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint documents to the physical world. It can unzip and unrar mail attachments that the built-in Mail app cannot open, and then rename, copy, and print the documents. Printer also integrates with all major cloud services, including iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, Sky Drive, and Evernote. Additionally, it can connect to a PC or Mac over a local Wi-Fi network or iTunes sharing.
Printer also comes with a universal, unlimited clipboard manager that stores a complete list of text and links copied from any app on the user's device. This feature alone is guaranteed to save users plenty of hassle, and serves as a quick way to store notes without interrupting the flow of a browsing session in Safari or Mail.
"Never again will you have to leave the app you're using just to save a note," says Singh. "Just copy any link or text as you browse your email or the web, and know that it's saved for you to use any time in Printer."

Cricket Temperature is a fun little app that uses sophisticated algorithms to listen to cricket chirps and calculate the temperature from those chirps. It also displays a plot of the sounds that the device hears. Cricket Temperature also lets people adjust various parameters to see how it affects the signal of the cricket chirps.
Pablo, Montana - Sunny Slope Development has announced that their new iOS app, Cricket Temperature, is now available on the Apple App Store. It is available for iPhones and iPads. This is a fun little app that uses sophisticated algorithms to listen to cricket chirps and calculate the temperature from those chirps. It also displays a plot of the sounds that the device hears. This iOS app uses a fast fourier transform algorithm to change the signal from the time domain into the frequency domain, then looks for cricket chips in a very specific frequency region. The algorithm then looks at several frequencies that crickets chirp at and it boosts those frequencies. The app then uses the chirps it hears to calculate the temperature based on the formula of the number of chirps in 14 seconds plus 40. This formula give you the temperature in Fahrenheit degrees. The app displays and immediate temperature and also averages 10 chirp temperatures to display a fairly accurate average temperature.
Cricket Temperature allows children and fun loving adults to explore the world of sound especially crickets by seeing the sound displayed on a frequency plot.

Now users can also take advantage of the numerous new features such as: horizontal photo support with a new photo mode and the ability to take photos while recording a video; horizontal video recording of up to 2K resolution and 60 & 120 FPS (slow motion); a revamped media library and more.

Horizon was released on the App Store on January 14, 2014, becoming an instant hit with its support for horizontal video recording at 1080p. Now Horizon 2.0 goes even further.
The new free update allows users to shoot horizontal photos and record videos up to 2592x1936 (2K), a resolution not currently supported in the default Camera app. (*)
Users will also be able to record horizontally at 60 & 120 FPS (slow motion) to capture a striking lightning bolt, water dripping or plain crazy jumps. (**)
For slow motion videos, Horizon now adds an extra option during playback. Just tap & hold your finger on the screen the moment you want to enable slow motion and the playback will slow down, giving your creations a bullet time feeling!
"We are really excited about what this update brings to our users" said Petros Douvantzis, co-founder and developer of Evil Window Dog. "We've been carefully listening to our customers and delivered the two most requested features: Photo mode and Slow motion support. But we couldn't stop there: 2K recording, 60 FPS recording, Crisp resolutions, a revamped interface and an updated media library are just some of the cool new features of this update."
As the user records, Horizon autolevels videos utilizing the device's gyroscope. The orientation of the resulting video or photo stays corrected so that it is always parallel to the ground. Users can also choose from eight cool real time filters to apply while recording and share the final result on their favorite social network right from within the app. Horizon supports different aspect ratios and resolutions that can be changed by the user at any time. Supported resolutions include 2K, 1080p, 720p, 640 and 480p, depending on the device.
The app also features three distinct leveling modes:
* 'Flex' where the frame is always adjusted for maximum viewport
* 'Rotate' where the frame size stays fixed
* 'Locked' where auto leveling is disabled
The 'Video Quality' option allows users to choose between higher video quality or smaller file size.

The new free update allows users to shoot horizontal photos and record videos up to 2592x1936 (2K), a resolution not currently supported in the default Camera app. (*)
Users will also be able to record horizontally at 60 & 120 FPS (slow motion) to capture a striking lightning bolt, water dripping or plain crazy jumps. (**)
For slow motion videos, Horizon now adds an extra option during playback. Just tap & hold your finger on the screen the moment you want to enable slow motion and the playback will slow down, giving your creations a bullet time feeling!
"We are really excited about what this update brings to our users" said Petros Douvantzis, co-founder and developer of Evil Window Dog. "We've been carefully listening to our customers and delivered the two most requested features: Photo mode and Slow motion support. But we couldn't stop there: 2K recording, 60 FPS recording, Crisp resolutions, a revamped interface and an updated media library are just some of the cool new features of this update."
As the user records, Horizon autolevels videos utilizing the device's gyroscope. The orientation of the resulting video or photo stays corrected so that it is always parallel to the ground. Users can also choose from eight cool real time filters to apply while recording and share the final result on their favorite social network right from within the app. Horizon supports different aspect ratios and resolutions that can be changed by the user at any time. Supported resolutions include 2K, 1080p, 720p, 640 and 480p, depending on the device.
The app also features three distinct leveling modes:
* 'Flex' where the frame is always adjusted for maximum viewport
* 'Rotate' where the frame size stays fixed
* 'Locked' where auto leveling is disabled
The 'Video Quality' option allows users to choose between higher video quality or smaller file size.

Both graphics and sound can be graded for sensory sensitive kids or for kids that are easily distracted.

Toronto based Popcorn Grenade today announces CountDracu1 for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. CountDracu1 is a storybook / adventure game for toddlers and pre-school kids ages 2 to 5. Staring the very friendly vampire from Toronto Canada, join Count Dracu Jr. as he takes you through his house and introduces you to his circle of multicultural friends. Each of his friends are missing something, and you need to help them find it. This game features vibrant and colorful graphics and illustrations.
Toronto, Canada - Popcorn Grenade today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of CountDracu1, a storybook / adventure game app for toddlers and pre-school kids (ages 2 to 5). Join Count Dracu Jr. (a friendly vampire from Toronto, Canada) as he takes you through his house and introduces you to his circle of multicultural friends; there's Frankie the Jewish Frankenstein, Raggy the Egyptian mummy, Howie the Ukrainian werewolf, Yetinder the Indian yeti, and many more lovable characters.
Each of his friends are missing something, and you need to help them find it. Also collect all the medallions, and you'll get a chance to win a prize at the end of the game.

* Kids get to move Count Dracu Jr. through each of the rooms, transform him into a bat (by double tapping on him), as well as interact with each of Count Dracu's friends, using simple touch and drag actions.
* Meet 11 zany characters from around the globe - each with their own accent and puzzle to solve

CountDracu1 is the first in series of childrens' apps created by Canadian illustrator, animator, and programmer Denny Kurien. He and his wife, Mary, run a small, independent, mom & pop shop in Toronto that produces early-learning apps for toddlers and pre-school kids (2 - 5 year olds).

Popcorn Grenade is a small, independent boutique shop in Toronto, Canada that produces early learning apps for Infants, toddlers and pre-school kids. The illustration, animation, programming, and voice-over work that goes into our apps are all done by us. We also have a well-adjusted 3 year old boy who is extremely tech saavy when it comes to using an iPad. He is responsible for beta-testing and quality control.
