GAMKIN Inc., formed by veterans of Square-Enix, Capcom and SEGA, announced today they have begun a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform for their latest game: X-Tactics. X-Tactics, is an episodic RPG, set in the modern world, that combines tactical gameplay with elements of urban exploration. The game is targeted at iOS devices, Android & Google Glass. The campaign will last until September 15.
Tokyo, Japan - GAMKIN Inc., formed by veterans of Square-Enix, Capcom and SEGA, announced today they have begun a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform for their latest game: X-Tactics. X-Tactics, is an episodic RPG, set in the modern world, that combines tactical gameplay with elements of urban exploration.

"When we set out to make X-Tactics, we didn't want to make just another tactical game, nor create some sort of perfect tactical experience. Our goal was to create something new," said Robert Gould, X-Tactics's producer and lead designer. "Leveraging our expertise, we combined equal parts of tactical gameplay like that of 'Final Fantasy Tactics' and 'Valkyrie Chronicles', with fighting game mechanics and aesthetics, like those found in the 'Street Fighter' series, to create a new gameplay experience, that we at least, have not seen done before."
"It is our mission here at GAMKIN, to mashup our gamedev expertise with other fields. So we are using real world data streams, like weather, and location-based data, to enhance X-Tactics gameplay, creating an urban exploration sandbox mode for our players. This combined with the curated episodic nature of X-Tactics will allow us to build a living game, and allow us to expand the X-Tactics universe based on our community's feedback."
Regarding crowdfunding, Kengo Okinaga, founder and CEO of GAMKIN, explained that "unlike most other game-related crowdfunding, that depends on funding to start production, we wanted to wait until we had the game's systems nailed down before starting our campaign, so we could reduce the risks for both our supporters and partners." adding that "the development team is now focusing on improving features and creating the remaining content needed for release, not simple tasks, but tasks that we feel confident we can handle."

GAMKIN Inc., formed by veterans of Square-Enix, Capcom and SEGA, announced today they have begun a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform for their latest game: X-Tactics. X-Tactics, is an episodic RPG, set in the modern world, that combines tactical gameplay with elements of urban exploration. The game is targeted at iOS devices, Android & Google Glass. The campaign will last until September 15.
Tokyo, Japan - GAMKIN Inc., formed by veterans of Square-Enix, Capcom and SEGA, announced today they have begun a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform for their latest game: X-Tactics. X-Tactics, is an episodic RPG, set in the modern world, that combines tactical gameplay with elements of urban exploration.

"When we set out to make X-Tactics, we didn't want to make just another tactical game, nor create some sort of perfect tactical experience. Our goal was to create something new," said Robert Gould, X-Tactics's producer and lead designer. "Leveraging our expertise, we combined equal parts of tactical gameplay like that of 'Final Fantasy Tactics' and 'Valkyrie Chronicles', with fighting game mechanics and aesthetics, like those found in the 'Street Fighter' series, to create a new gameplay experience, that we at least, have not seen done before."
"It is our mission here at GAMKIN, to mashup our gamedev expertise with other fields. So we are using real world data streams, like weather, and location-based data, to enhance X-Tactics gameplay, creating an urban exploration sandbox mode for our players. This combined with the curated episodic nature of X-Tactics will allow us to build a living game, and allow us to expand the X-Tactics universe based on our community's feedback."
Regarding crowdfunding, Kengo Okinaga, founder and CEO of GAMKIN, explained that "unlike most other game-related crowdfunding, that depends on funding to start production, we wanted to wait until we had the game's systems nailed down before starting our campaign, so we could reduce the risks for both our supporters and partners." adding that "the development team is now focusing on improving features and creating the remaining content needed for release, not simple tasks, but tasks that we feel confident we can handle."

Franklin, Wisconsin - Mac Mini Vault is announcing a partnership with Watchman Monitoring. This partnership will include integration of advanced and proactive monitoring for Mac Mini Vault customers. Beginning today, all Mac Mini Vault customers at the 'Enterprise' service level will have free access to the Watchman Monitoring agent and monitoring results. The agent will monitor system details and watch for potential issues.

The Watchman Monitoring agent is a small piece of software which detects physical and operational errors, reports system statistics and data points. After launching the ChordShaker Pocket Guitar App in June, their latest free iOS app Ukeoke Ukulele Karaoke was launched yesterday - and it is featured by Apple in "US the Best Apps" category. Musopia's mission is to make playing an instrument as easy as possible. This is exactly what Ukeoke does: Uke players can find everything they need to learn a substantial repertoire of contemporary songs in the Ukeoke app.

You can quickly keep score of games and send pre-formatted text notifications to anyone easily from within the app. In addition to keeping score, the app also tracks certain player actions and includes that info in the text messages.
Oswego, Illinois - BaraLabs, a iOS development company, has just released an update to their popular iOS app, VBall ScoreMaster. This app is targeted to parents and friends of club, high school, and middle school volleyball players. You can quickly keep score of games and send pre-formatted text notifications to anyone easily from within the app.
Version 2.0 adds new features such as tracking of the last 3 games played (typical of most high school and club matches), instant message sending, and customizable player stats known as 'Action Names'. "Based on user feedback, I also redesigned parts of the app to make it even easier to use," said BaraLabs owner and app developer Frank Bara.
"I developed the app because both my sons play volleyball at the club and school level," said Bara. "I noticed that usually the people keeping score at games were young players or volunteers who often wouldn't pay close attention to what was going on in the game." Bara also said, "I found myself constantly asking other parents if the score being shown was correct. I decided to make my own app with the features I used most."
Also included in the app is the ability to send a text message that's already filled out with the name of the player, the score, and the name & number of Action Name. Bara continued, "My wife would want to know how our boys were doing and I would end up missing the action because I was busy typing a text message to her. I built into the app the ability to quickly send a text message after an ace or spike; I don't even have to look at the screen, I just tap 'Send' and the message is done!" It's everything a player's parent, grand-parent, or friend would want and it's only $0.99 in the Apple App Store. Development will continue with a planned addition of iPad support and new features like Facebook and Twitter integration. Users who upgrade from the current version will get many of the new features for free.
