Instead of having to sync the complete document, CloudTree allows you to sync only the changes you've made to it. While this may sound like an obvious feature to many users, it is not. In the past, iCloud had to upload and download the complete file. However, going forward, if you enter a person event, CloudTree will sync only this one item. Get ready for a dramatically accelerated syncing experience requiring very little data transfer. This allows you to easily sync your data over mobile networks as well.

Version 2.9.8 brings a revamped Media preferences pane with enhancements for Markdown document handling, improves auto-saving, makes scanning multiple pages more comfortable, and fixes more issues with PDF support on macOS Sierra.

The new version brings a revamped Media preferences pane with enhancements for Markdown document handling. In addition, version 2.9.8 improves auto-saving, makes scanning multiple pages more comfortable, and fixes more issues with PDF support on macOS Sierra. All updates are free and recommended for all users.
DEVONthink 2.9.8 brings enhancements to make paperless life less tiresome. The revised Media preference panes cleans up the available options and adds a new one. It allows users to choose whether they want to open Markdown files in editing or preview mode. Markdown is a way to add formatting to plain text documents in a way that both humans and machines can read them. DEVONthink shows Markdown as well as MultiMarkdown documents rendered to graphically pleasing HTML.
Scanning documents with multiple pages becomes simpler with version 2.9.8, too, and so does handling indexed items. Indexed items are files or folders located outside of the database package. Taggers will like that they can now drag tags or words from the concordance into the Tags bar or Info panel to add new tags to documents or groups.
The update also speeds up synchronizing databases between Macs. Pending records can be downloaded via the contextual and action menus. Pending records are 'placeholders' for indexed files when the user has chosen to not synchronize their content automatically. This option can save valuable disk space, especially if the database contains huge indexed folders.
Finally, all four editions including DEVONnote now recognize Fountain plain text files and save documents automatically five minutes after the last modification. Heavy-duty mobile users get a battery time boost with the applications no longer switching to the discrete graphics card by default on macOS Sierra.
The updates for all editions of DEVONthink and DEVONnote as well as DEVONthink To Go are free for existings users and highly recommended.
