BoomKLAKers creator Rosa Mei, a professional American choreographer and martial artist currently based in Europe, came up with the concept of BoomKLAKers when trying to entertain her baby twins. "My babies grew up watching dance and martial arts, listening to beatboxers and rappers practicing in our studios. They love movement and music. It engages them and makes them so happy. They bounce and do mock head banging to the beats. Before my little girl could say mama, she said "Boom KA!" and would start dancing." Mei says she was inspired to create an app for kids that would give toddlers all over the world a similar kid of joy.
She decided to collaborate with Teddy Guilbaud, a beatboxer,percussionist,jazz musician and champion slam artist from France. Rosa and Teddy have collaborated for 10 years through Cie 13, an experimental dance troupe based in Antwerpen, Belgium. Originally from Nantes, Teddy's influences include Thelonius Monk, Charlie Parker and Aphex Twins, among others. Together they decided to create an app for toddlers with a whole different feel, something funky, radical, cool and utterly engaging for tots.
"We didn't want to make the same old, same old," Mei explained. "Why not have toddlers listen to funky music with beatbox rhythms? My babies love it and I'm hoping that others will too."

New app Top vs. Bottom seeks to join the ranks of Heads Up! as a must-have, mobile party game. Developed by a team of Harvard Business School students, Top vs. Bottom is a comical, debate-based game intended specifically for university students and young adults. Each selected player must argue in favor of whichever term they have been assigned, regardless of personal preference. Topics range from the cleanest of clean to naughty. The first player to win 5 rounds is victorious!
Cupertino, California - Top vs. Bottom has hit the Apple App Store. This cheeky new game engages participants in comical debates for hours of entertainment and enjoyment. Developed by a team of Harvard Business School students seeking to offer an alternative to Heads Up! and Cards Against Humanity, Top vs. Bottom will offer answers to some of society's age-old questions:
* Window seat or Aisle seat?
* Oscar the Grouch or Big Bird?
* Fashion models or Excel models?
* Clothes-wearing society or Nudist colony?
The game is played on a single mobile device, with up to eight participants. In each round of play, the game will randomly select two persons to face-off on a hilarious pairing of topics. Each selected player must argue in favor of whichever term they have been assigned, regardless of personal preference. The debate is passed back and forth between the two selected players, until time runs out. At the end of the round, the audience of non-selected players chooses the winner. The first player to win 5 rounds is victorious! Topics range from the cleanest of clean to make-sure-your-mother-isn't-around naughty.
Developed over the course of several months, the team is confident that this game has wide and proven appeal. "We have now played with a large number of college students in the Boston area and we think there is real demand for a product like Top vs. Bottom. Support from avid gamers and fellow game developers at the Boston Games Forum has also been very encouraging," said Fred Spring, one of the team members behind Top vs. Bottom.
As of now, the app remains in trial mode and is currently available only for iOS. Other operating systems will be covered in future releases. Future releases will also include thematic expansion packs as well as certain exciting social features that will allow dedicated players not only to debate for hours but also propose, rank, and share pairings.

In Purgatory Mountain players control one of five Hells Angels. Their mission is to save the souls of the dead from falling to Hell. Souls present themselves as small orbs with wings fashioned on different professionals such as lawyers, doctors and construction workers all deserved of a place in Heaven. Pixel Knights Ltd. released their latest game from their gaming studio based in Pwllheli, North Wales, UK. Following on from the success of their previous games, Stackimals, ZombieGP, Christmas Chaos and Halloween Havoc, this game concentrates on bringing family friendly puzzles to all ages.
A landmark release, as we believe Geiriau Gwyllt is the first Welsh language word puzzle game available for mobile devices, further cementing our commitment to bring native langauge gaming to Welsh players. We also wanted to bring an easy to play game to market, one which our own kids could easily pickup and play, but also one that would keep older gamers occupied and coming back for more. The 4 age rating reflects our goal to ensure this game was accessible to everyone.
Carl Jones, director and lead developer at Pixel Knights said, "I started writing games on a Commodore64 at the young age of 10, mostly because I didn't have a tape player with it to load them up. And the magazines in those days were always full of great game listings to type in. Things progressed somewhat with the arrival of the Amiga, I used to spend days writing games on that platform using AMOS. Unfortunately once I graduated from University and got a 'real' job, game programming became a distant memory. But recently I've been really captivated by mobile gaming and so decided it was time to re-kindle my passion for game development."
Geiriau Gwyllt is the company's first Welsh-only game (previous releases were bi-lingual), so expect great things to emerge from this new studio. It shows the company's growing commitment to bringing native language apps to Welsh speakers worldwide.

This new WYSIWG render pipeline editor for multipass and post-processing effects includes built-in blending operators (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide, screen, overlay, blur). As a result, users can see every step of the rendering pipeline that the scene follows during rendering, and fundamentally change it to obtain powerful post-processing effects.

Without the use of post-processing, it is usually very difficult to obtain realistic renderings in just a single rendering pass. For this reason, Verto Studio 2.0 has added the ability to do post-processing through the introduction of the Verto Studio Post-FX system and the Render Pipeline Editor. This new WYSIWG render pipeline editor for multipass and post-processing effects includes built-in blending operators (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide, screen, overlay, blur). As a result, users can see every step of the rendering pipeline that the scene follows during rendering, and fundamentally change it to obtain powerful post-processing effects.
