PepperGum Labs Shows First WatchKit Games for the Apple Watch - Published on 12/20/14
PepperGum Labs now has the first WatchKit games playable for Apple Watch, including a beautifully animated martial arts fighter, Pong and others in ongoing development. PepperGum Labs (PGL) made these games for Apple Watch as part of a class to be offered online to teach Apple Watch Development. PepperGum Labs is also prototyping integration between the Apple Watch and other technologies like the Oculus Rift and Augmented Reality for even more innovative games.
Provo, Utah - PepperGum Labs now has the first WatchKit games playable for Apple Watch, including a beautifully animated martial arts fighter, Pong and others in ongoing development. PepperGum Labs (PGL) made these games for Apple Watch as part of a class they will offer online to teach Apple Watch Development.
Ontario Britton, instructor and engineer at PGL, is a veteran game programmer and iOS instructor, so creating Apple Watch games was his first interest when the WatchKit SDK launched last month. He has found great success using games and other interesting or highly visual apps to teach previous programming classes. These projects will "help you easily learn and maintain your new Apple Watch programming skills," says Ontario.
"You'll learn through fun and engaging applications not found anywhere else," says Ontario. "You'll create these cutting-edge Watchkit applications as some of your first Apple Watch Apps," he continues while showing Pong and 3D games in the Apple Watch simulator. Ontario is no stranger to creating classes for Apple technologies, having developed curriculum for various courses in iOS programming taught at a Gold Level Apple Authorized Training Center.
With such strong interest worldwide in Apple's newly released WatchKit SDK, PepperGum Labs aims to meet the needs of programmers and newcomers alike with some of the highest quality and most unique instruction in Apple Watch programming. The class covers 24 hours of online instruction and provides source code for 10 fully-functional games and other programming projects, including simple starting-point templates. The source code is all written in Apple's new programming language Swift utilizing Apple's newly released iOS8. Instruction is focused on learning concepts of Apple Watch programming and immediately implementing them in code, so students build these games as the class progresses.
PepperGum Labs is using KickStarter not only to crowd-fund the initial cost of creating this online class, but to also generate a community around the new curriculum. For a $49 pledge (or $39 for early adopters), aspiring WatchKit developers get unlimited access through KickStarter to an otherwise $500 online course. The same course costs $1,500 if taken in-person through a training center.
The instructor, Ontario Britton, teaches classes in Apple technologies across the United States. He was the lead mobile trainer at a Gold Level Apple Authorized Training Center in Manhattan where he teaches Swift, Obj-C, Java, iOS Frameworks, Game Programming and Android Development. He has taught non-programmers and experienced engineers, and says that "everyone leaves my classes successfully writing their own apps, often for the first time". This is his first class to be offered online, and it will be hosted through the Udemy website.
The instructor also has impressive iOS experience, having contributed to more than 20 iPhone and iPad apps with over two million downloads among them, mostly games. Included in games Ontario helped engineer is Endless Alphabet, which was one of a select group of apps awarded Apple's "Best of 2014" award and which appeared onstage with Tim Cook at Apple's 2014 World Wide Developers Conference.
PepperGum Labs is also prototyping integration between the Apple Watch and other technologies like the Oculus Rift and Augmented Reality to make the next generation of games a reality as the WatchKit SDK opens even more access to the Watch's sensors.

Hug went on to point out that The Scarf is made of a polypropylene, a thermoplastic polymer, which is lightweight yet tough and impact resistant. According to a recent study by NPD Group, which consistently ranks among the top 25 market research companies, 87 percent of iPhone owners use a protective case with their phone. The number one reason iPhone owners don't use a case, according to the study, is that it would add too much bulk to the design of their phone. In addition, the global demand for iPhones is high, increasing the need for a case that users feel compliments their phone.
"iPhone users are constantly looking for a more elegant solution in a case that offers protection without the bulk," Hug said. "We have that solution with the world's thinnest iPhone case."
In an interview with Fortune Magazine in reference to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple CEO Tim Cook said, "These iPhones have become the fastest-selling iPhones in history. The first 30 days we have set a new high-water mark for the most orders taken. And I don't mean by a little. By a lot, a whole lot."
Hug noted that nine out of 10 people will be covering up their iPhone with a case, but explained that Totallee's new product, the Scarf, empowers iPhone users everywhere with the perfect complement and enhances the look of their iPhone rather than detracting from it.
As to how users rate the Scarf, David Parent, Chief Editor of NH Tech, gave it two thumbs up with a rating of 10 out of 10.

Lucky Clan today introduces Video Zoom 1.0, its new video app developed for iOS devices. Video Zoom lets anyone apply zoom to videos from their existing iOS Photo Library. Use this app to add Zoom effects to existing videos, or just crop the video, as well as use Video Zoom as a normal app or Photo Extension. Video Zoom supports both front and back camera, Save zoomed video as a new clip or overwrite the original, and it's possible to revert back to the original.
Lodz, Poland - Lucky Clan today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Video Zoom 1.0, its new video app developed for iOS. Video Zoom is the first app on the App Store which let user apply zoom to videos from iOS Photo Library. Do your videos look boring? Did you forget to use zoom during recording? Use this app to add Zoom effects to existing videos. Or just crop a video. Use it as a normal app or Photo Extension.
How to use it:
1. Tap video thumbnail to preview video or tap "+" to record new video.
2. Tap thumbnail again to select the video and open editor.
3. Use pinch/drag gestures to add zoom effect to video. You can do it when video is playing or paused.
4. Tap "Done" and select "Overwrite" or "Save As a Copy" to start rendering. Even if you choose "Overwrite" you can revert to original anytime.
