Mac Backup Guru 4.0 adds its own versions of Copy & Paste to the Finder's contextual menu. Its implementation has 3 main advantages over the standard menu items: The first is that it makes accurate and reliable copies that work with huge file sets, allowing for an entire disk to be copied and pasted and for it to be bootable afterwards. The second is it that the copy and paste is resumable. And the third is that it is faster. It is the only third party software that makes Incremental Snapshots.
Breckenridge, Colorado - MacDaddy has announced Mac Backup Guru 4.0 for OS X, an update to its innovative utility that has three main features: 1) It provides a contextual menu to copy and paste a bootable volume in the Finder and 2) It's the only third party disk utility that provides Incremental Snapshots in OS X. And 3) It provides straightforward clone/sync functionality, with security that the sync is reliable.
Mac Backup Guru is the first third party disk utility that produces incremental backups of a filesystem. Incremental Snapshots use only a small fraction of the disk space to store daily versioned backups which can be accessed via the Finder and appear to be standard copies. This is done by employing hardlinks to the original files for unaltered files. Mac Backup Guru also offers the more traditional clone and sync functionality, with built in Contextual Menu Items in the Finder to make it easier access its capabilities and streamline the user interface.

Mac Backup Guru Incremental Snapshots work differently from traditional disk backups. These initially makes a full clone, and for subsequent backups only copy files that have been added or changed since the original backup. All other files create a hardlink to the original file in the last backup that was made. Users can rest assured that future filesystem backups will not alter or completely wipe out previous backups, and that if they delete a file in their startup disk that the next sync that runs will not delete that same file on their backup drive. By employing this technique a typical user can store 30 unique daily snapshots of their 1TB disk on their 1.5TB external backup disk.
For the Synchronization functionality Mac Backup Guru ensures that the synced backup maintains a level of data integrity equal to that following the initial clone. This reliability is borne of the simple logic inherent in the process. In order to achieve reliable sync, 3 basic rules are followed:
1. If the size of the file on the Source is different from that on the Destination, the file has changed.
2. If the modification time on the Source is different from than on the Destination, the file has changed.
3. If the file has changed, replace the one on the Destination with the file from the Source.
Even under the harshest conditions, this method produces perfectly synced Destination disks, which will always boot up and perform like the original. And the user interface is also simplified. The large empty icon window on the left is labeled Select Source, followed by a right-pointing arrow and another icon window labeled Select Destination. Having selected the Source and Destination, the user just clicks the Backup button and the rest is automatic.
A. Newer files from the Source will replace older files on the Destination. This is how synchronization is provided.
B. The first time you backup it will be slow, but after that only updated files will be copied so that it will usually only take a few minutes to backup an entire drive.
C. If you select volumes in HFS format rather than folders to backup to and from, the backup will be bootable.

Mac Backup Guru 4.0 adds its own versions of Copy & Paste to the Finder's contextual menu. Its implementation has 3 main advantages over the standard menu items: The first is that it makes accurate and reliable copies that work with huge file sets, allowing for an entire disk to be copied and pasted and for it to be bootable afterwards. The second is it that the copy and paste is resumable. And the third is that it is faster. It is the only third party software that makes Incremental Snapshots.
Breckenridge, Colorado - MacDaddy has announced Mac Backup Guru 4.0 for OS X, an update to its innovative utility that has three main features: 1) It provides a contextual menu to copy and paste a bootable volume in the Finder and 2) It's the only third party disk utility that provides Incremental Snapshots in OS X. And 3) It provides straightforward clone/sync functionality, with security that the sync is reliable.
Mac Backup Guru is the first third party disk utility that produces incremental backups of a filesystem. Incremental Snapshots use only a small fraction of the disk space to store daily versioned backups which can be accessed via the Finder and appear to be standard copies. This is done by employing hardlinks to the original files for unaltered files. Mac Backup Guru also offers the more traditional clone and sync functionality, with built in Contextual Menu Items in the Finder to make it easier access its capabilities and streamline the user interface.

Mac Backup Guru Incremental Snapshots work differently from traditional disk backups. These initially makes a full clone, and for subsequent backups only copy files that have been added or changed since the original backup. All other files create a hardlink to the original file in the last backup that was made. Users can rest assured that future filesystem backups will not alter or completely wipe out previous backups, and that if they delete a file in their startup disk that the next sync that runs will not delete that same file on their backup drive. By employing this technique a typical user can store 30 unique daily snapshots of their 1TB disk on their 1.5TB external backup disk.
For the Synchronization functionality Mac Backup Guru ensures that the synced backup maintains a level of data integrity equal to that following the initial clone. This reliability is borne of the simple logic inherent in the process. In order to achieve reliable sync, 3 basic rules are followed:
1. If the size of the file on the Source is different from that on the Destination, the file has changed.
2. If the modification time on the Source is different from than on the Destination, the file has changed.
3. If the file has changed, replace the one on the Destination with the file from the Source.
Even under the harshest conditions, this method produces perfectly synced Destination disks, which will always boot up and perform like the original. And the user interface is also simplified. The large empty icon window on the left is labeled Select Source, followed by a right-pointing arrow and another icon window labeled Select Destination. Having selected the Source and Destination, the user just clicks the Backup button and the rest is automatic.
A. Newer files from the Source will replace older files on the Destination. This is how synchronization is provided.
B. The first time you backup it will be slow, but after that only updated files will be copied so that it will usually only take a few minutes to backup an entire drive.
C. If you select volumes in HFS format rather than folders to backup to and from, the backup will be bootable.

Musicians can now flip sheet music on iPad with GoodReader - Published on 04/08/15

Flipping music pages on an iPad presents the same problems as with standard sheet music - turning pages by hand interrupts the musician's rhythm. The app provides drone operators a permission slip to fly and a property release to allow videographers and photographers necessary permission to fly and film.

Available on the iTunes Store, Legal Flyer aims to protect homeowners from rogue drones. According to the new FAA proposed rules, drone operators need permission to fly over private property. Legal Flyer provides drone operators a permission slip to fly and a property release to allow videographers and photographers necessary permission to fly and film.
"The app is a tool for drone operators to get necessary permissions, as well as, inform and educate the public on their privacy rights. We hope through informed consent more citizens feel comfortable with drones, while more videographers are able to fly homes," says Paul Aitken Chief Pilot with DroneU.
The app not only complies with FAA rules, but also more relevant FCC rules and privacy laws. Many citizens have concerns of privacy and most individuals are unaware they own the airspace above their home, thanks to Causby v. United States we know that we have rights to up to 83 feet. This app will help bridge the communication gap from drone pilots and worried citizens. Example, if a realtor needs to sell a home, the pilot still needs permission to fly the home and surrounding airspace.
The app was the idea of two friends, Paul Aitken of Ride Media and Jason Bache of Nerds Limited. Jason states, "Legal flyer is a timely synthesis of existing technologies which empower pilots to get the permission they need to fly and film the properties they want."
The app creates property releases and flight permission slips for pilots, shareable via PDF or any application that can read PDFs. Manage, store and share vital documents.

Inspired by the classic bike musette, owner Gary Waterfield maintained the bag's best features and added upgrades: enhanced comfort, improved materials and increased functionality. The resulting Vitesse is the quintessential bag for commuters, cyclists or travelers.
"Traditional cycling musettes are used to pass food to cyclists in races like the Tour de France. Cyclists sling it on, transfer food to their jersey pockets, then toss it to the side of the road," explained owner and avid cyclist Gary WaterField. "We love the simplicity and utility of these bags, but we wanted to create a modern-day, more functional version that would endure. The Vitesse is beautiful in its simplicity - just throw in your wallet, iPhone and iPad, put it on and you've got the perfect light bag for quick trips on the go, whether you're cycling or headed to work."
Waterfield retained the classic musette's best aspects - its straightforward design and lightweight, compact convenience - and added features to enhance durability, comfort and utility. Crafted from waxed-canvas to give the bag some structure and full-grain leather for style, this lightweight musette bag is built to last. The quickly-adjustable nylon strap is thicker than the standard musette and is sewn at an angle for enhanced comfort. Like a classic musette, the Vitesse has one main compartment, but WaterField adds a bit of depth to it as well as two interior pockets, leaving space for wallet, iPhone keys and a few larger items - lunch, books, or an iPad or MacBook in a sleeve.
The traditional musette is open-topped; WaterField offers this style and one with a canvas flap for added security. Both secure with an adjustable leather tab and black metal stud. Worn cross body, the bag rests on the wearer's back leaving his hands free. It easily swings around front to access contents. Three earthy colors - brown, burgundy and navy - allow cyclists to complement jersey colors and day users to match their style.
Easily folded and packed into another bag, the Vitesse makes a travel-friendly companion. Specially crafted for kids aged two and above, both the parent and child can enjoy original stories and songs crafted with love from the team at Mezmedia. In keeping with Bamba's wacky and off-beat world, Bamba Books provides a unique and fun experience for the reader.
Every story in Bamba Books is accompanied by a catchy music video, wonderfully animated with the signature illustrative style of the series. The stories in Bamba Books are interactive too, for example, in 'Monsters Can't Do Chores', readers get to help the Susie clean her room. The app's premium features include narrowing down your search preferences (according to education, ethnicity, employment status and age range) and "Single Me Out," which allows users to further specify on a preset list, where they are in a venue, all while remaining anonymous. As users check in and share check-ins on Facebook, they accumulate "Key to Your City" reward points that are redeemable for gift cards, and other rewards.
The idea behind the mobile app stems from two best friends frequently going out with great expectations of meeting new people, only to be met with disappointment when it seems as though everyone around them are already in relationships. They repeatedly asked, "Where do single people hang out?" and consequently My Single City was born and developed to help answer that simple question.
