New in DEVONthink 2.10 and DEVONthink To Go 2.6:
iCloud synchronization: DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go add synchronizing databases via iCloud. With iCloud being a system service this option doesn't require any additional configuration. If an optional password is entered all sync data is AES-256 encrypted for maximum privacy. All data transfer between devices is also managed in the background by the operating system. iCloud sync extends the already existing list of sync options that include local sync stores on removable media, direct connections on the local network, Dropbox, and WebDAV.
"iCloud synchronization is the one-button solution our customers were looking for. Add the iCloud sync location in DEVONthink's sync settings on all your devices, and check the databases you want to have synchronized. That's it. No user name, password, or cryptic server address. It really can't be easier", comments Eric Bohnisch-Volkmann, DEVONtechnologies' President.
New in DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.10: In addition to synchronizing via iCloud, DEVONthink 2.10 for Mac optionally synchronizes all pending changes when the user switches apps or quits the application completely. This makes sure that all changes they've made are uploaded for other devices to pick them up.
Other improvements include the ability to add pages to PDF documents by dragging them to the PDF's thumbnail bar and, in the Pro edition, new scripts for archiving email messages or whole mailboxes including attachments from Apple Mail. DEVONthink 2.10 deals better with some misbehaving scanners, handles EPUB and RSS feeds more gracefully, and, in the Pro editions, improves importing, filtering, and exporting email. New in DEVONthink To Go 2.6: iCloud support is the largest but not the only sync-related improvement in DEVONthink To Go 2.6. The synchronization continues in the background as long as iOS permits and DEVONthink To Go gets changes from time to time also when it's not in the foreground. Like its Mac counterpart, DEVONthink To Go syncs when the user switches to another app. Sync locations can now be manually deactivated like on the Mac, the Help screen shows the last synchronization and background refresh dates, and the sync toolbar icon is used for the synchronization progress again.
In addition, version 2.6 allows searching directly from the database list on the home screen. Item lists show up to three lines for the title and three lines for the details of each item, and an app-wide setting allows keeping groups sorted to the top. Two new global smart groups list office and text documents. Finally, the "update" URL command lets the user change an item's color label as well as its flagged and unread status from automated workflows. The updates for all editions of DEVONthink and DEVONnote are free for existings users and highly recommended.

DEVONthink supports a large variety of file formats and stores them in a database enhanced by artificial intelligence. The update adds iCloud synchronization. DEVONthink To Go also synchronizes in the background. In addition, all five editions receive a large number of additional improvements and bug fixes.

DEVONthink To Go synchronizes in the background now, too. In addition, all five editions receive a large number of additional improvements and bug fixes. The updates are free and recommended for all users.
DEVONthink is DEVONtechnologies' document and information management solution for the Mac. It supports a large variety of file formats and stores them in a database enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI). Many document formats can be directly viewed and edited, PDFs annotated. DEVONnote is DEVONthink's little sibling with a reduced feature set targeted at users with notetaking-centric needs.

New in DEVONthink 2.10 and DEVONthink To Go 2.6:
iCloud synchronization: DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go add synchronizing databases via iCloud. With iCloud being a system service this option doesn't require any additional configuration. If an optional password is entered all sync data is AES-256 encrypted for maximum privacy. All data transfer between devices is also managed in the background by the operating system. iCloud sync extends the already existing list of sync options that include local sync stores on removable media, direct connections on the local network, Dropbox, and WebDAV.
"iCloud synchronization is the one-button solution our customers were looking for. Add the iCloud sync location in DEVONthink's sync settings on all your devices, and check the databases you want to have synchronized. That's it. No user name, password, or cryptic server address. It really can't be easier", comments Eric Bohnisch-Volkmann, DEVONtechnologies' President.
New in DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.10: In addition to synchronizing via iCloud, DEVONthink 2.10 for Mac optionally synchronizes all pending changes when the user switches apps or quits the application completely. This makes sure that all changes they've made are uploaded for other devices to pick them up.
Other improvements include the ability to add pages to PDF documents by dragging them to the PDF's thumbnail bar and, in the Pro edition, new scripts for archiving email messages or whole mailboxes including attachments from Apple Mail. DEVONthink 2.10 deals better with some misbehaving scanners, handles EPUB and RSS feeds more gracefully, and, in the Pro editions, improves importing, filtering, and exporting email. The update also improves the overall reliability and fixes bugs.
DEVONnote 2.10 receives the relevant enhancements and bug fixes from its siblings, too.
New in DEVONthink To Go 2.6: iCloud support is the largest but not the only sync-related improvement in DEVONthink To Go 2.6. The synchronization continues in the background as long as iOS permits and DEVONthink To Go gets changes from time to time also when it's not in the foreground. Like its Mac counterpart, DEVONthink To Go syncs when the user switches to another app. Sync locations can now be manually deactivated like on the Mac, the Help screen shows the last synchronization and background refresh dates, and the sync toolbar icon is used for the synchronization progress again.
In addition, version 2.6 allows searching directly from the database list on the home screen. Item lists show up to three lines for the title and three lines for the details of each item, and an app-wide setting allows keeping groups sorted to the top. Two new global smart groups list office and text documents. Finally, the "update" URL command lets the user change an item's color label as well as its flagged and unread status from automated workflows. The updates for all editions of DEVONthink and DEVONnote are free for existings users and highly recommended.
