Red Giant has announced Universe 1.2, an update to the multi-host-app library of GPU-accelerated tools. Universe is community with access to an ever-expanding library of tools for filmmakers, editors, VFX artists, and motion designers. The entire Universe library of tools works across host applications like Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, Motion & After Effects on Mac and Windows. Version 1.2 includes nine new effects and transitions, Sony Vegas support, Premiere Pro improvements.
Portland, Oregon - As part of its aggressive expansion of new tools and host support, Red Giant has released Universe 1.2. The update to the multi-host-app library of GPU-accelerated tools includes nine new effects and transitions. Universe 1.2 also adds support for Sony Vegas as well as native editing of transitions in Premiere Pro CC and CC 2014. These updates expand the Universe toolset to 68 effects and transitions, more than half of which are free and run in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro X and Motion, and now, Sony Vegas.
"When we released Universe, we promised frequent updates," said Sean Safreed, co-founder of Red Giant. "In just two updates, including this one, we've added 18 new effects and transitions. But more than that, we are very proud to add support for our first OFX host, Sony Vegas, so quickly. We plan to add more certified OFX applications in 2014."
Lightning-Fast Transitions and Effects:
Universe 1.2 includes many new features, including three new effects. The Glitch plugin creates the video compression and digital glitches seen in low-bandwidth video. The Billowed Background tool quickly and automatically creates animated fractal backgrounds for your motion graphics work. Edge Glow adds a neon-like glow around the edge of text or shapes within a video.
The new release also adds six new transitions, including three premium tools from Red Giant partners. Partner transitions include CrumplePop HalfLight (a popular tool, formerly exclusive to Final Cut Pro X), Glitch Transition, and ToonIt Cartoon Transition. Other premium transitions include Triangle Wave and Diamond Wave, which generate 3D folding shapes as transitions. Universe 1.2 also includes the new free Exposure Blur transition - the winning tool in the Universe Labs community voting. All of the effects and transitions available in Universe are GPU-accelerated, giving artists a serious boost in speed.
Finally, native-style Premiere transitions have arrived in Universe 1.2. This change brings native editing of transitions to Premiere Pro CC, eliminating the need for a custom dialog box and speeding up the transition setup and adjustment with all Universe transitions.

A resounding "thunk" is heard throughout the forest as blue bolts of lightening strike the advancing T-Rex dinosaurs. If any get past you, your tribe is doomed! Can you stop the massive T-Rex dinosaur herd?

The Enterprise Device Alliance (EDA) today opened a new survey to query IT administrators about the deployment and management of smartphones and tablets in their organizations. The survey asks about the relative growth in the number of tablets to laptops, the ongoing impact on IT of managing mobile devices, and the special security challenges that mobile systems introduce.
Santa Clara, California - The Enterprise Device Alliance (EDA) today opened a new survey to query IT administrators about the deployment and management of smartphones and tablets in their organizations. The survey asks about the relative growth in the number of tablets to laptops, the ongoing impact on IT of managing mobile devices, and the special security challenges that mobile systems introduce.
The results of the survey will provide a view of the issues that IT departments confront as they accommodate the increased use of mobile devices in their enterprise and the approaches they are using to address these issues. IT administrators are encouraged to contribute to the survey at Enterprise Device Alliance Mobile Survey. The survey will be online until September 26, 2014.
In a webcast on October 30, 2014, the Enterprise Device Alliance will be announcing the survey results with Ryan Faas, an enterprise consultant and journalist for the Computerworld and Citeworld website.
"The rapid adoption of smartphones and tablets has challenged enterprises to deliver secure, mobile access to information while protecting customer data and ensuring the organizations' integrity and productivity," said T. Haypi's team is working hard to further fine tune and optimize the gameplay of the Pokemon-style monster-collecting EDU game. This is a proof that Haypi Co., Ltd is an extremely fruitful and efficient developer. They release games and updates one after the other.
Finally, Haypi's team is ready for an official release of Haypi Kingdom: The Return of the King. The game had a closed Beta testing that was super fun, but it also required really hard work! During the testing period, Haypi's fans experienced closely the fast development of the game. Haypi's team has put a lot of efforts to make the players' ideas come to life in the game. Concerning the gameplay, it's all about strategy and war tactics. Players can find satisfaction in their personal growth and team work. It's so exciting to lead a diversity of troops, and various heroes with different skills. Players can manage technologies, forging and disenchant valuable items. In this challenging game, there are many options for player interaction: collaborative tasks, PVP tournaments, plenty of activities, a fabulous adventure etc. In a really thrilling way, players will go through 10 scenes with hundreds of levels. Like Sacrifice, the game is a third-person view RTS where you summon creatures to fight for you, and cast a variety of spells to support them. However unit micro-management is taken out in order to allow the players to focus on other aspects of the game. The players get to choose their summons from a large pool of attacker units, defender units, bodyguards units, etc, of varying costs, strength, and special abilities. All those units fight autonomously according to their AI types.
Like Magic: the Gathering - Shandalar, the players do not have to pay for booster packs to get new spells - they are given a limited set of spells at the beginning of the game, and shall gradually collect more and better spells, summons, artifacts and special feats, as they brave through the free-roaming game world. They shall test their decks against many different opponents, while they keep on hunting for new spells and improving their decks.
