Intriguing dynamic shapes are generated completely algorithmically from random seeds from the 7 included themes. Players swipe matching shapes together to form new higher level shapes. As the game progresses, new shapes are formed, and the player must manage free space. If the the board fills, the game is over.
"Not only is this game addictive in regards to achieving high scores, but is also a meditative experience", said Daniel Adair, Riada's CEO. Island Defense was developed as engrossing game with multiple layers and objectives, mixing a parking and tower defense game in one. Then, players spend money so to build towers that can effectively defend their island against enemy attacks. The latest version boasts a sleek new interface that helps beginners learn strumming patterns and chord diagrams, the ability to record audio or video while playing, as well as more full songs and practice tracks. iUke is available now free as a universal app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch from the iTunes App Store.
Downloaded over a hundred thousand times, iUke is an interactive ukulele song book, providing chords for popular songs, but it also functions as a tutorial for learning to play the ukulele.
"Many people will receive a ukulele as a gift this Christmas, but they don't know how to get started," says iUke's designer, Shawn Xiao. "iUke walks beginning ukulele players through the basics of where to place their fingers, alongside animations that show them how to strum. Playing a song this way is extremely easy."
iUke has many unique features that make it the ideal companion for experienced ukulele musicians as well. The app can transpose songs from one key to another instantly, and slow down or speed up the song tempo on the fly. Chords and lyrics scroll automatically as the song progresses. A new feature in version 2.0 is the ability to record audio and video while playing.
"Recording as you play is an amazing feature," notes Xiao. "It means that musicians can review their progress and improve their performance right inside the app."
Currently iUke features 15 holiday songs and carols to download, many for free, as well as over 50 practice sequences. Melody, bass, and drum instrumental tracks have been added to the audio to help musicians as they play, with settings to adjust the volume of each instrument individually. Ukulelists can now play along with the recordings, choosing a speed and difficulty level for each song to match their level of expertise. Also new in version 2.0 is the ability to sync purchased songs between iPhone and iPad versions of the app.

Fractions & Smart Pirates has four islands where players have fraction problems to solve using different situations.
Yoshkar-Ola, Russian Federation - Virtual Space 000 has announced their new educational app, Fractions & Smart Pirates for Mac OS X. Fractions & Smart Pirates - fun and easy way to learn fractions with the Caribbean Pirates. Recognizing and comparing fractions, equivalent fractions, adding fractions - if you're struggling with fraction problems Fractions & Smart Pirates is your answer.
On the first island the player learns to read fractions. In order to do so he/she offers the pirates some slices of pizza and tries to guess what part of the pizza is left for other pirates to eat in the boat. If there is a mistake the pirates get in trouble.
On the second island, the pirates have to get across the bottomless abyss. In order to do it, they need to balance the bridge using firecracker baskets. In this game the player assists the pirates in choosing a basket with an equivalent fraction.
On the third island the pirates come across an unexpected rival - one-eyed Captain. But our brave old sea dogs are not scared at all! With the player's help the pirates should get bigger watermelons than the Captain.
On the fourth island, the pirates are tempted to treat themselves with a few pieces of a lovely cake. The player offers the pirate a piece of cake and guesses what part of the whole cake his piece makes. If there is a mistake in calculation, the pirate becomes sad and hungry, as the cake is eaten by a perky parrot.
