After Dark Studios has released Warrior Chess 1.18 for iOS, an update to their high resolution 3D chess game. Themed in the year 1066, Warrior Chess is an interactive chess game based on the historic Battle of Hastings. With 99 different AI difficulty settings, players have a choice of challenging another player or the computer in timed or untimed games. Warrior Chess also offers a helpful How-to-Play tutorial, the ability to save and load games, and a move hint generation feature.

With 99 different AI difficulty settings, Warrior Chess offers players the option of one or two-person mode in time or untimed gameplay. Timed games can be set from 5 minutes to 59 minutes with a helpful clock that marks time. Untimed games also provide a timekeeper so players can determine how long it takes them to make a move.

Warrior Chess allows a unique level of interaction to enhance the gameplay experience. Players have the ability to zoom and pan around the board to view the chess pieces. There is also a 2nd camera mode that focuses on the piece the player is currently playing.
"There is little competition in the number of apps on the market that can provide the 3D experience created by After Dark Studios," says Leon at Blah Blapp. "Its original 3D approach makes it unique and as such worth considering." For the novice, Warrior Chess offers a helpful How-to-Play tutorial that explains each chess piece, its available moves, and ranks. Players can also receive hints on available chess piece moves if they get stuck. Warrior Chess shows all moves the current game and there is an undo/redo feature that is even available after Checkmate.
Warrior Chess allows players the ability to save games and load them to be replayed, analyzed, or finished at a later time. At the restart of a previously completed game, players can choose from any previous point and play again. Warrior Chess also provides support for "Castling," "En Passant," and "Pawn Promotion."

Independent developer Alfons Schmid has released Mac OS and Windows versions of "Notebooks," a productivity app which combines text processing with task management and file organization. Notebooks includes advanced text processing for plain text, formatted text and Markdown, provides space to store and organize files and documents, and also integrates complex task management. The desktop applications complement the iPad and iPhone versions of Notebooks.
Salzburg, Austria - Alfons Schmid has released desktop versions of "Notebooks," a popular productivity app on iPads and iPhones. The desktop application is available for Mac OS and Windows and perfectly complements its iOS counterpart.
Notebooks was originally designed to do away with paper notes and has evolved into a powerful productivity app that includes advanced text processing for plain text, formatted text and Markdown, provides space to store and organize files and documents, and also integrates complex task management. Despite its power, Notebooks strives to remain light weight.
Users can create formatted documents using WYSIWYG style editing, produce formatted HTML using Markdown, or simply type plain text notes, and all while using custom fonts, colors, and background patterns. Advanced options allow users to convert between these formats, use Markdown syntax highlighting and formatting and much more.
Notebooks supports unlimited nested books (folders) to organize contents by topics, subjects, projects or any other category. This makes it easy to separate private notes from business documents, client data from journal entries or school subjects from each other, just to mention a few options.

New to the suite is Denoiser II, Red Giant's powerful video noise reduction tool. Also included are the recently updated BulletProof 1.2, as well as Frames and LUT Buddy. PluralEyes 3.5 brings expanded media support, more accuracy, drift correction and more to one of the editing industry's most popular tools.

PluralEyes 3.5, the latest update to Red Giant's automated audio/video sync tool, brings expanded media support, more accuracy, drift correction and more to one of the editing industry's most popular tools. PluralEyes literally saves hours or even days of audio/video syncing work, by analyzing the audio from all devices and automatically syncing them up with the touch of a button.
"PluralEyes has always been great at taking what came out of your camera and audio devices and making them work together, as is," said Randon Morford, Shooter Suite product manager. "But there are many issues created in camera that make a sync virtually impossible. In this version, we've added a new feature called Drift Correction that allows PluralEyes to actively fix audio/video issues, generated directly in-camera, that can cause an inaccurate sync."
Drift correction is a new feature unique to PluralEyes 3.5, and a solution to a problem that plagues many shooters. When filming long clips, cameras can lose sync with audio recorders because their recording speeds don't match precisely. PluralEyes 3.5 can fix this.
An additional focus for this PluralEyes upgrade has been on improving and expanding support for more media types - including improved support for AVCHD cameras, with support for spanned clips. In addition, PluralEyes' Replace Audio feature now supports many more media types than before, bringing this popular feature to a much larger group of users.
"PluralEyes has revolutionized the way people work on and off set," said Bruce Sharpe, who originally created the app for his own projects. "On set, it makes the shoots go faster by freeing up shooters from having to use clapboards or timecode, or for having to account for many cameras' limitations. At the same time, editors don't have to pay for that freedom later. PluralEyes removes the time-consuming process of manual syncing that slows editors down, right before post-production. All around, it lets people get projects done more quickly."

Red Giant Instant 4K, an update to Instant HD, includes speed optimization (up to 3-4X) and new presets geared towards higher resolution formats. "They also help developers foster cooperation with clients and end-users, and help them sell better projects."
"This workshop really helped us in the design of the document check-in screen of DocuBin," said previous Design Studio attendee Jesse Barnum, president of 360Works. "After implementing what we learned, we simplified, re-worded, and rearranged the buttons so that the result of each choice is much more obvious. It's little touches like this that make any software appealing, both to look at and to use."
The registration fee for the Design Studio is $1,499 (USD). A $300 discount is available for those who register before September 30, 2014. Registered participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop computers. Paper, sharpies, sticky notes, and six-up templates will be provided. Participants will receive a recommended reading list, prior to attending the Design Studio.

Indie developer, Runar Trollet Kristoffersen today announces Tally Board 1.4 for iOS, a game that challenges your number skills, reasoning skills and strategy skills. Tally Board starts with a large grid that resembles a checkerboard that is filled with numbers. Combine numbers by either adding them or multiplying. The game requires players to use basic calculations, the kind which they use in their everyday life, to improve their mathematical skills while advancing in the game.

Tally Board starts with a large grid that resembles a checkerboard that is filled with numbers. The player sets of after a quick tutorial to combine numbers by either adding them or multiplying. Numbers can be switched around and they need to both place the numbers correctly, and make sure the board doesn't fill up.

Players navigate the various realms of ShadowPain in 2D top-down view, one area at a time. During each random battle, players turn into a "shadow" to avoid damage, collecting gear from each slain enemy. Users can then visit an item menu to equip collected weapons, customizing the best options to slash their way to victory and prepare for each unexpected stage ahead.
