"To set up and manage all the connected boxes with blinking lights I needed to remember their addresses. Signpost let me look up the address once, then name each device in a friendly way. Now I can access my wifi router with the URL, wifi.local."
Signpost uses multicast domain name server protocols, known as Bonjour on macOS, to publish names. This approach is ad-hoc and only persists while the Signpost application is running. There is no need for centralised servers or set up on other devices. Everything needed happens on a single Mac.
Once published, local domain names can be immediately used by any other Bonjour/mDNS-aware device on the network. Signpost running on a Mac will provide local domains that are useable from iPhones, iPads, and other Macs across the local network. Other operating systems, such as Linux, that can support mDNS will also benefit.
Signpost works with both IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Signpost can publish A, AAAA, and CNAME based domain name records. The choice of the record is handled by Signpost depending on the provided device and desired local domain name.

Powered by machine learning, Search by Drawing analyzes the drawing as the user draws to predict what symbol(s) are most accurately represented. The machine learning model, created and trained using Apple's Turi Create, uses a convolutional neural network running image classification algorithms that enable it to recognize the drawing. Utilizing this model with Core ML and Vision in iOS 11, drawings are processed quickly and efficiently, performing up to 600 billion operations per second with the A11 Bionic Neural Engine on iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
Search by Drawing has been introduced in beta, bringing support for 152 pictograph symbols. Users from around the world can help to add support for all symbols by submitting their own drawings. Each drawing submitted will be used to train the machine learning model, teaching it to recognize all symbols while also improving accuracy. Future updates to the app will include these crowd-sourced improvements.

The app makes it possible to write, compile and test shader programs directly on any iOS device without ever touching a laptop or desktop computer. Version 4.3 adds full support for iOS 11 and iPhone X.
Hamburg, Germany - Gryphos GmbH has released Shaderific version 4.3, a major update of its OpenGL ES shader development application for iOS. Shaderific provides the full range of shader development with the OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL) on tablet computers and mobile devices. Vertex and fragment shader code can be created, edited and compiled on the device and all changes are visible instantly. There is no need to use a personal computer (laptop or desktop) in the shader development process anymore.
The update adds support for iOS 11 and iPhone X taking full advantage of the new screen size.
Shaderific streamlines the process of prototyping, testing and debugging shaders immensely by cutting the cord to the personal computer. Whereas traditional shader development requires compilation of the whole graphics application for every change to a shader file, all this is unnecessary now. Since the shaders are edited and compiled right on the iPad, iPhone or iPod no file transfer is needed with a personal computer and a lot of time can be saved. A further strength of Shaderific lies in the possibility to change parameters (uniforms) of the shaders via the settings menu without interrupting the rendering loop. All changes can be examined in real-time and fine-tuning the rendering result is fast and easy.

Brisbane, Queensland - Red Sprite Studios is proud to announce the release of Skip and Save 1.01 on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch devices. Skip and Save and lets users track saving for something special by skipping the occasional treat, like candy, soda or coffee.
The simple app's interface allows users to quickly launch the app and tap the skip button. They can see how close they are to reaching their goal and the Apple Watch version is designed to take advantage of all the complications on the Apple Watch.
Designer and programmer John Passfield says that the idea for the app came out of his habit of skipping the occasional coffee to justify buying cool things.
"I had just received an Apple Watch Series 3 from my wife on our wedding anniversary and wanted to make something for it," said John "and the idea came to me when I was buying a coffee and trying to work out how much money I had saved that month from skipping coffee on previous days."
John set out to build the app and began testing it out on himself. Within the first few weeks he had saved over $30. "Cups of coffee aren't that cheap here in Australia," he joked.
Skip and Save is free with no in-app purchases.

Indie development team, Fun Driven releases Breath Ball 2.1.2, the initial release of their breathing guidance app for Mac OS X. Developed for the Neurological Therapy Center Gmundnerberg in Austria for use by their patients, Breath Ball helps users to relax by guiding their breathing rhythm. The app is designed to be as simple to follow as possible, making it easy for anyone to receive the breathing guidance. Version 2.1.2 is the first version released for Mac OS X.
Buers, Vorarlberg - Independent development team, Fun Driven has released Breath Ball 2.1.2, their breathing guidance app for Mac OS X. The app helps users to relax by guiding their breathing rhythm. Breath Ball was originally developed for use by patients at the Neurological Therapy Center Gmundnerberg in Austria who suffer from severe brain damage caused by cancer, stroke, accidents and other issues.
Users of the app simply follow along by watching the on-screen ball. Folks are encouraged to find a comfortable place to sit, start the app, and then breathe in as the ball grows in size, exhaling as the ball shrinks. The breathing rate can be set to whatever is most comfortable for the user, they are then encouraged to slowly lower the rate until they reach the optimum relaxation rate of 6 breaths-per-minute.
"Breath Ball was originally designed for use by the patients at NTC Gmundnerberg, who suffer from severe brain damage caused by accidents, strokes, cancer and other medical incidents or conditions. The doctors there needed a mindful breathing app that would be easy to use by even the most challenged of patients," shares Michael Holl, the founder of Fun Driven. "We created the app, and have continually worked to make it as easy as possible to use by anyone who needs to relax from stress."
Breath Ball makes it easy for anyone to relax by regulating their breathing rhythms. The app's "Simple" mode defaults to 6 breathing cycles per minute, but the cycles can be adjusted from 4 per minute to as fast as 15. The default rhythm of 6 cycles per minute has been found to help patients under severe stress to relax.
The app's "Advanced" mode was created in response to requests from Breath Ball users. Advanced allows the configuration of the entire breathing cycle. Users can set the time in seconds for the length of time to breathe in, how long to hold a breath, the length of time to breathe out, and also how long to wait before once again breathing in.
The Advanced mode is especially helpful for users who would like to configure custom breathing patterns, such as Dr. Andrew Weil's well known 4-7-8 breathing pattern. The exercise is designed to help users fall asleep quickly by inhaling for 4 counts, holding the breath in for 7 counts, and exhaling to an 8 count. Dr. Weil believes the exercise can cause a user to fall asleep in as little as 60 seconds.

The app is designed to be as simple to follow as possible, making it easy for anyone to receive the breathing guidance. Version 2.1.2 is the first version released for Mac OS X.
Buers, Vorarlberg - Independent development team, Fun Driven has released Breath Ball 2.1.2, their breathing guidance app for Mac OS X. The app helps users to relax by guiding their breathing rhythm. Breath Ball was originally developed for use by patients at the Neurological Therapy Center Gmundnerberg in Austria who suffer from severe brain damage caused by cancer, stroke, accidents and other issues.
Users of the app simply follow along by watching the on-screen ball. Folks are encouraged to find a comfortable place to sit, start the app, and then breathe in as the ball grows in size, exhaling as the ball shrinks. The breathing rate can be set to whatever is most comfortable for the user, they are then encouraged to slowly lower the rate until they reach the optimum relaxation rate of 6 breaths-per-minute.
"Breath Ball was originally designed for use by the patients at NTC Gmundnerberg, who suffer from severe brain damage caused by accidents, strokes, cancer and other medical incidents or conditions. The doctors there needed a mindful breathing app that would be easy to use by even the most challenged of patients," shares Michael Holl, the founder of Fun Driven. "We created the app, and have continually worked to make it as easy as possible to use by anyone who needs to relax from stress."
Breath Ball makes it easy for anyone to relax by regulating their breathing rhythms. The app's "Simple" mode defaults to 6 breathing cycles per minute, but the cycles can be adjusted from 4 per minute to as fast as 15. The default rhythm of 6 cycles per minute has been found to help patients under severe stress to relax.
The app's "Advanced" mode was created in response to requests from Breath Ball users. Advanced allows the configuration of the entire breathing cycle. Users can set the time in seconds for the length of time to breathe in, how long to hold a breath, the length of time to breathe out, and also how long to wait before once again breathing in.
The Advanced mode is especially helpful for users who would like to configure custom breathing patterns, such as Dr. Andrew Weil's well known 4-7-8 breathing pattern. The exercise is designed to help users fall asleep quickly by inhaling for 4 counts, holding the breath in for 7 counts, and exhaling to an 8 count. Dr. Weil believes the exercise can cause a user to fall asleep in as little as 60 seconds.

The improved wireless power allows users the ability to arrange and use their Apple wireless anywhere they choose by providing a wider range and blasting through common line of sight objects. Indie development team, Fun Driven today announces Breath Ball Relaxation 2.1.1, an important update to their breathing guidance app for iOS devices. Developed for the Neurological Therapy Center Gmundnerberg in Austria for use by their patients, Breath Ball Relaxation helps users to relax by guiding their breathing rhythm. The app is designed to be as simple to follow as possible, making it easy for anyone to receive the breathing guidance. Version 2.1.1 brings visual improvements to the app.
Vorarlberg, Austria - Independent development team Fun Driven is today proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Breath Ball Relaxation 2.1.1, an important update to their breathing guidance app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The app helps users to relax by guiding their breathing rhythm. Breath Ball Relaxation was originally developed for use by patients at the Neurological Therapy Center Gmundnerberg in Austria who suffer from severe brain damage caused by cancer, stroke, accidents and other issues.
Users of the app simply follow along by watching the on-screen ball. Folks are encouraged to find a comfortable place to sit, start the app, and then breathe in as the ball grows in size, exhaling as the ball shrinks. The breathing rate can be set to whatever is most comfortable for the user, they are then encouraged to slowly lower the rate until they reach the optimum relaxation rate of 6 breaths-per-minute.
"Breath Ball was originally designed for use by the patients at NTC Gmundnerberg, who duffer from severe brain damage caused by accidents, strokes, cancer and other medical incidents or conditions. The doctors there needed a mindful breathing app that would be easy to use by even the most challenged of patients," shares Michael Holl, the founder of Fun Driven. "We created the app, and have continually worked to make it as easy as possible to use by anyone who needs to relax from stress."
Breath Ball makes it easy for anyone to relax by regulating their breathing rhythms. The app's "Simple" mode defaults to 6 breathing cycles per minute, but the cycles can be adjusted from 4 per minute to as fast as 15. The default rhythm of 6 cycles per minute has been found to help patients under severe stress to relax.
The app's "Advanced" mode was created in response to requests from Breath Ball users. Advanced allows the configuration of the entire breathing cycle. Users can set the time in seconds for the length of time to breathe in, how long to hold a breath, the length of time to breathe out, and also how long to wait before once again breathing in.
The Advanced mode is especially helpful for users who would like to configure custom breathing patterns, such as Dr. Andrew Weil's well known 4-7-8 breathing pattern. The exercise is designed to help users fall asleep quickly by inhaling for 4 counts, holding the breath in for 7 counts, and exhaling to an 8 count. Dr. Weil believes the exercise can cause a user to fall asleep in as little as 60 seconds.
While the app is simple to use, any of its options can be easily customized by the user. All display colors can be adjusted, just in case the default blue/white color scheme isn't to their liking. In addition there is a "hide controls after 5 seconds" option that hides anything that might distract the user. An "Audio Guide" option allows users to use the app with their eyes closed, by playing a sound effect to indicate when it's time to breathe in, hold the breath, and then breathe out.
"Breath Ball has been a philanthropic project from the beginning, and it will continue to be just that, with no charge for its use. In addition, we are committed to responding to feedback from our users," continued Michael. "Users are invited to use the app's 'Send Feedback' function to share their feedback, along with any thoughts on how we can improve the app. Every feature we added since Breath Ball's initial release has originated from user feedback. We hope everyone uses the app in good health."

DuckDuckGo's updated mobile app and browser extension offer tracker blocking, smarter encryption, and private search, meaning that for the first time, these privacy protection tools are available in a single product across all major platforms. This gives people all the privacy essentials they need to seamlessly take control of their personal information online.
The product also shows a Privacy Grade rating (A-F) for each website visited. This rating lets users see at a glance how protected they are, dig into the details to see who was caught trying to track them, and learn how DuckDuckGo enhanced the underlying website's privacy measures. The Privacy Grade is scored automatically based on the prevalence of hidden tracker networks, encryption availability, and website privacy practices.
