London, United Kingdom and Minsk, Belarus - KinderMATICA, which recently released a series of family-friendly board games in app form, is writing a new page in its catalog of entertaining and educational mobile apps for young children with the release of Yum-Yum Letters 1.00 for iOS and Android devices. This highly customizable app introduces handwriting to youngsters ages 4+ in a relaxed format.
Yum-Yum Letters dispenses with lined paper or a blank white screen in favor of bright cheery graphics and animated characters to lead instruction. Children etch letters on a frosted glass using a snowflake or munch letters out of leaves with a caterpillar. Initially, all that's required is following an outline. Next, kids attempt to stay within the lines. Finally, users must complete the strokes in the correct order. The structured trials allow children to operate the app with minimal guidance from parents.
Yum-Yum Letters includes a significant degree of customization beyond the themed writing surfaces. Parents and teachers can use a passcode protected section to specify HWT or ZB style fonts, ABC or recommended order, number of trials needed for mastery and time between verbal praise. There's an EASY mode for younger children and those with special needs to learn letters before they are ready to write independently.
What truly sets the new app apart from other handwriting instruction apps and programs is its Smart practice feature. When in recommended mode, the app tracks progress and automatically reorders the next letters to learn based on current proficiency. If a child evidences strong control on straight lines but struggles with curved letters like B and R, the app notes this and assigns practice accordingly. Parents can at any time view progress reports that show number of attempts, mistakes and whether a letter is mastered.
Initially, the app will only include instruction for capital letters. Planned updates will add lowercase letters, numbers and basic sight words to the mix. Staggering the content release into two phases keeps the material fresh and gives kids a chance master uppercase printing before moving on to smaller letters which often prove more difficult for kids to distinguish.
Svetlana Korneliuk, representative of KinderMATICA and a consultant on the project, explained, "Traditional handwriting instruction is spread out over the course of an entire school year. Since preschool apps have a short shelf life and kids constantly want something new, we made a conscious decision to satisfy that need. The update will offer more characters and additional mini-games so it will appear to be a brand new app."

The MCE 1TB Internal Flash Drive Upgrade Kit is $479.00, and the 500GB version is $279.00. Both are available for immediate shipment.

The MCE 1TB and 500GB Flash Storage Upgrade Kits for 13" and 15" MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 through Early 2013) installs in place of the existing flash drive in those machines. They are based on the SATA-III architecture in those machines and can transfer data at speeds of up to 550MB/sec when reading, and 520MB/sec when writing. The drives perform their own wear-leveling algorithm to ensure longevity as well as support TRIM when enabled in the Mac OS. They support SMART status commands and can be configured and partitioned using the native Disk Utility app in the Mac OS. Each Flash Storage upgrade kit carries a five-year warranty.

The MCE 1TB and 500GB Flash Drive Upgrade Kits include a specially designed USB 3.0 enclosure to house the original flash drive to facilitate easy data transfer, all necessary tools to perform the installation, an illustrated installation guide, and drive cloning software. The MCE 1TB Internal Flash Drive Upgrade Kit is $479.00, and the 500GB version is $279.00. Both are available for immediate shipment.
"We're excited to bring to market the first true 1TB flash storage upgrade kit for the first generation of MacBook Pro with Retina Display machines," stated Arnold Ramirez, president of MCE. "Users with the standard configuration of 128GB or 256GB of storage quickly encountered how minimal that amount of storage is in this day and age and are weary of lugging around external drives. Our 1TB and 500GB internal flash upgrade kits are a perfect solution to that problem."
The MCE 1TB and 500GB Flash Storage Upgrade Kits for 13" and 15" MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 through Early 2013) installs in place of the existing flash drive in those machines. They are based on the SATA-III architecture in those machines and can transfer data at speeds of up to 550MB/sec when reading, and 520MB/sec when writing. The drives perform their own wear-leveling algorithm to ensure longevity as well as support TRIM when enabled in the Mac OS. They support SMART status commands and can be configured and partitioned using the native Disk Utility app in the Mac OS. Each Flash Storage upgrade kit carries a five-year warranty.

Based on this they have built an iOS game that brings back the challenging gameplay and fun storytelling of the old time games for modern mobile devices where I, Buster am the main character.
In the game you would see me go on a journey across various levels, away from my home town of Dogstool to help save my owner - Professor James Beagles who works at the Dogstool Institute of Geology, Archeology, History and Obscure Language Ethnography (DIGAHOLE). Having studied the secrets of the ancient Maya at DIGAHOLE, Professor Beagles finds himself captured by an unexpected arch villain - the nasty Adelbert Adler and it is up to me rescue him.
Also, Along the way there is some simple and fun, but also challenging gameplay that will introduce replay value like we all used to enjoy with old school games in our living room in front of our TV sets, only this time we can enjoy it anywhere we want. This will give the audience some great trips to work and forget-to-get-off-the-toilet intense moments.

Berlin app studio Catsndogz has announced Lucy & Pogo 1.1 for iOS, an educational and fun app for children from 3 to 7 years of age. Kids help Lucy find her way around the new dog world over the course of 13 chapters, and well as through mini-games developed for the story. In playful lessons, not only spelling, music and drawing with numbers will be practiced, but also values such as tolerance, empathy and the desire for knowledge are conveyed.
Berlin, Germany - catsndogz studio has turned the popular children's "The cat that wagged its tail" into an educational and fun app for children from 3 to 7 years of age. "School is only for dogs? Then I'll just be a dog!" figures Lucy the cat. She so much wants to go to school together with the neighbour's dog Pogo, that she disguises herself and dresses up as the new classmate Rocky. Users help the protagonist find her way around the new dog world over the course of 13 chapters, and through the mini-games developed for the story. In playful lessons, not only spelling, music and drawing with numbers will be practiced, but also values such as tolerance empathy and the desire for knowledge are conveyed.

Characteristic features of the app include the collaged and hand-painted illustrations made of different materials, the sound design completely generated by voices, and the specially composed and recorded live music. "Lucy and Pogo is intended to be much more than just an interactive book: The blend of storytelling, playing and learning is meant to be both fun and informative at the same time." After this first product, Catsndogz plans to continue focusing on high quality and educationally valuable content when it comes to future interactive projects in the mobile area.
"Lucy & Pogo" is a collaboration of award-winning artists from the field of animation, illustration and film. The app's development was funded as part of the program for innovative audiovisual content by Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg.
"We are filmmakers, parents, animators, with children in mind," continued Gunther. "We do whatever fascinates us, we animate, film or program whatever is worth it, worth spending our and our little users precious time with. We do our own ideas from scratch, or we adapt books or transform long gone jewels to new life in a new surrounding. Like so many parents, we hid our iPad from our children and were worried they would eventually become unsocial computernerds if they touch it, until we found out, what is possible with those things. Of course we still prefer if they play analogue from time to time, but well, it's 2015. Since out of those bizillions of APPs already out there, we thought there is still room for something nice, haptic and handmade, we thought we should give it a try."

Berlin app studio Catsndogz has announced Lucy & Pogo 1.1 for iOS, an educational and fun app for children from 3 to 7 years of age. Kids help Lucy find her way around the new dog world over the course of 13 chapters, and well as through mini-games developed for the story. In playful lessons, not only spelling, music and drawing with numbers will be practiced, but also values such as tolerance, empathy and the desire for knowledge are conveyed.
Berlin, Germany - catsndogz studio has turned the popular children's "The cat that wagged its tail" into an educational and fun app for children from 3 to 7 years of age. "School is only for dogs? Then I'll just be a dog!" figures Lucy the cat. She so much wants to go to school together with the neighbour's dog Pogo, that she disguises herself and dresses up as the new classmate Rocky. Users help the protagonist find her way around the new dog world over the course of 13 chapters, and through the mini-games developed for the story. In playful lessons, not only spelling, music and drawing with numbers will be practiced, but also values such as tolerance empathy and the desire for knowledge are conveyed.

Characteristic features of the app include the collaged and hand-painted illustrations made of different materials, the sound design completely generated by voices, and the specially composed and recorded live music. "We want to take digital storytelling for children a step further" said Tim Gunther, founder of catsndogz. "Lucy and Pogo is intended to be much more than just an interactive book: The blend of storytelling, playing and learning is meant to be both fun and informative at the same time." After this first product, Catsndogz plans to continue focusing on high quality and educationally valuable content when it comes to future interactive projects in the mobile area.
"Lucy & Pogo" is a collaboration of award-winning artists from the field of animation, illustration and film. The app's development was funded as part of the program for innovative audiovisual content by Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg.
"We are filmmakers, parents, animators, with children in mind," continued Gunther. "We do whatever fascinates us, we animate, film or program whatever is worth it, worth spending our and our little users precious time with. We do our own ideas from scratch, or we adapt books or transform long gone jewels to new life in a new surrounding. Like so many parents, we hid our iPad from our children and were worried they would eventually become unsocial computernerds if they touch it, until we found out, what is possible with those things. Of course we still prefer if they play analogue from time to time, but well, it's 2015. Since out of those bizillions of APPs already out there, we thought there is still room for something nice, haptic and handmade, we thought we should give it a try."
