Scannerz Lite is an abbreviated and easy to use version of the company's premier product, Scannerz for Mac OS X. Scannerz Lite, like its counterpart, Scannerz, is a hard drive, and SSD evaluation tool. Scannerz Lite targets an audience that wants a low cost, high quality test tool without all the advanced features found in the fully featured version of Scannerz, but with an even lower price tag.
"Some people don't want to be bothered with a lot of technical details, tests, and diagnostic capabilities, they simply want to test their drive and make sure it's working properly," stated Bill Wagner, the company owner. "Scannerz Lite fits the bill nicely. Although the advanced diagnostic capabilities of the fully featured version of Scannerz are really pretty easy to use, to non-technical people it might seem somewhat intimidating. The MCE 2TB MobileStor Performance(TM) Hard Drive Upgrade features a rotational speed of 5400RPM, a maximum sustained data transfer rate of 169MB/sec with 32MB of on-board cache supplying burst transfer rates of 600MB/sec. The drive also features Native Command Queing (NCQ) in which the drive automatically reorders commands in the most efficient way based on the location of data on its platters in order to retrieve, or write, that data with the least latency. S.M.A.R.T. status monitoring is also supported and can warn of possible or impending disk failure long before one actually occurs allowing the user to take early action to keep their data safe. The drive's S.M.A.R.T. status can be verified using Apple's Disk Utility or System Profiler program.
The included portable, external USB 3.0 enclosure is bootable on all Intel Macs and is provided with cloning software in order to facilitate an easy transition to the new hard drive as well as to allow continued usage of the original drive for general data storage or backup. The MCE 2TB MobileStor Performance(TM) Hard Drive Upgrade features a rotational speed of 5400RPM, a maximum sustained data transfer rate of 169MB/sec with 32MB of on-board cache supplying burst transfer rates of 600MB/sec. The drive also features Native Command Queing (NCQ) in which the drive automatically reorders commands in the most efficient way based on the location of data on its platters in order to retrieve, or write, that data with the least latency. S.M.A.R.T. status monitoring is also supported and can warn of possible or impending disk failure long before one actually occurs allowing the user to take early action to keep their data safe. The drive's S.M.A.R.T. status can be verified using Apple's Disk Utility or System Profiler program.
The included portable, external USB 3.0 enclosure is bootable on all Intel Macs and is provided with cloning software in order to facilitate an easy transition to the new hard drive as well as to allow continued usage of the original drive for general data storage or backup. An illustrated installation manual and all tools for performing the upgrade are also included.
