Houdah Software today releases Tembo 2.2, an update to the file search utility for Mac. Tembo is an efficient search tool that is based upon the Spotlight engine. It makes finding documents, mail messages, bookmarks, images and more as easy as possible. Tembo's strengths are its easy-to-use interface as well as the context sensitive filters to narrow down search results. Version 2.2 brings refinements and under-the-hood improvements.
Luxembourg - Houdah Software today is proud to announce the release of Tembo 2.2, an update to the file search utility for Mac. Tembo is a super-efficient, organized file search tool. It makes finding documents, mail messages, bookmarks, images and more as easy as possible.
Tembo is a desktop search tool that uses the existing Spotlight index. Tembo's strength is its easy-to-use interface. It's signature features are the grouped search results and context-sensitive filters. In a first pass, Tembo groups search results by file type categories. For each group, the top 10 matches are displayed. Preferences allow for groups to be enabled, disabled and reordered.
The real power and convenience of Tembo is revealed on drill-down into a group. Here Tembo lists up to 10'000 search results. Next the results are context-relevant filters. These make it easy to break down longs search results lists. E.g. a sidebar in the Documents group lists file types of found files. A single click reduces Documents search results to only Word files.
Each result category has its own dedicated filters:
* Bookmarks & History: Type, URL Domain
* Documents: File Type
* Fonts: File Type
* Images: Resolution, File Type
* Messages: Subject, From, To
* Movies: File Type, Codec
* Music: Artist, File Type
* PDF Documents: Author
* Source Code: File Type
Enhancements in Tembo 2.2:
* Search multiple folders at once
* Set up a selection of folders to search as default for new windows
* Drag files from search results to the Trash to delete
* Corrections to the German and French language versions
Enhancements in Tembo 2.1:
* Tembo now shows Finder tag colors in search results
* Long file names now wrap over two lines in grid view
* Improved performance and responsiveness in the grouped display of search results
Enhancements in Tembo 2.0:
* Actions: rename, tag, or trash files from search results
* Sharing: send files by Mail, Messages, Facebook, etc.
* File Info window: easy-to-read overview of important file properties
* View options: font size, date format, grid of icons or previews
* Menu bar button and global keyboard shortcuts
* Collapsible groups: hide rarely visited groups
* Improved performance
* Option to hand a search over to HoudahSpot

Pricing and Availability:
Tembo 2.2 is available for download from the Houdah Software web site. The demo version is fully functional. It however shows a message and adds a delay when opening files from search results.
A single-user license is priced at USD $15. A family license is available for $22. Upgrades from previous versions are priced $6.95 and $9.95 respectively. Upgrades are available through the store built into the demo version. Tembo licenses purchased on or after March 1, 2015 remain valid for Tembo 2. Prices are in USD and exclusive of tax.
Tembo 2.2 is also available through the Mac App Store. The version of Tembo available on the App Store is confined to the to the OS X application sandbox. The sandbox requires Tembo to ask for explicit permission before it can access files or folders. It also restricts interactions between applications. Thus some features are available only in the direct download version of Tembo.

Austrian indie developer, Karl Traunmueller today released Compositor 1.1, an update to his LaTeX Mac app. Compositor brings real-time WYSIWYG capabilities to LaTeX, the document preparation system widely used in academia for preparation of scientific and technical publications. Compositor delivers the same convenience and productivity of any modern word processor. Version 1.1 is now running e-TeX, an extended version of TeX developed by the NTS project.
Linz, Austria - Independent developer, Karl Traunmueller today released Compositor 1.1, the next version of the WYSIWYG LaTeX Mac app that brings real-time WYSIWYG capabilities to LaTeX, the document preparation system widely used in academia for preparation of scientific and technical publications.
The cornerstone of this release is an upgrade of the app's built-in typesetting engine. Version 1.1 is now running e-TeX, an extended version of TeX developed by the NTS ("New Typesetting System") project to address some of the limitations of Donald Knuth's original 1980s design of TeX.
With many LaTeX packages depending on e-TeX's enhanced features nowadays, the upgrade represents an important step towards broader support for commonly used LaTeX packages. Besides the update to the embedded typesetting engine, version 1.1 also fixes some bugs with font selection in the DVI renderer, the part that renders TeX's output to the screen.
To rapidly evolve the product into the go-to solution for LaTeX on the Mac, Karl Traunmueller, the developer, plans to ship updates every 4 to 6 weeks throughout the year. The next version, 1.2, scheduled for release by end of April, will bring improved support for more commonly used LaTeX packages.

Camerado Music, a newly established venture of Camerado Movies and Media, ventures into music production with the record release of the EP, 'Bad Guys' by indie rock / psych folk and electronic artist Gone Marshall. With $1000 producer fee remaining after production of the EP, the producers decided to place the remaining funds in a Bitcoin wallet to allow listeners a chance at cracking the secret code hidden among the tracks of the record.
Los Angeles, CA - Camerado Music, a newly established venture of Camerado Movies and Media, ventures into music production with the record release of the EP, 'Bad Guys' by indie rock / psych folk and electronic artist Gone Marshall. With $1000 producer fee remaining after production of the EP, the producers decided to place the remaining funds in a Bitcoin wallet to allow listeners a chance at cracking the secret code hidden among the tracks of the record.
"The usual thing to do after successfully completing a project like this is is pocket any remaining production money as part of the producer's fee", said Camerado principal and 'Bad Guys' producer Jason Rosette. "But in this case, given the unique sonic and lyrical landscapes of the record ('Bad Guys'), it seemed more engaging for listeners to have a shot at the money by placing it in a private Bitcoin wallet and leaving the code to crack the wallet hidden throughout the EP."
The private wallet security code would normally be virtually unbreakable, with a one in 2.5 quadrillion chance of randomly guessing the key. However, with the information embedded throughout the record, a listener with a good pair of headphones stands a chance of achieving the booty.

Henderson, Nevada - Excel Software has released new runtime plugins for FileMaker and Xojo developers of Mac and Windows desktop apps and a new library file for Xcode developers creating Mac OS apps. The new runtime files give developers the latest QuickLicense 8 protection and licensing features plus updates for the latest Mac and Windows OS. App developers can access QuickLicense runtime commands with a simple function call.
PluginFMQLRT 2.0 adds a 64-bit FileMaker Windows plugin. It also supports 32-bit FileMaker Windows and a 64-bit Cocoa plugin for Mac OS computers. PluginXojoQLRT 2.1 supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Mac and Windows apps created with Xojo. QLRT Xcode 3.1 is a static library that can be compiled into any Xcode desktop application.
FileMaker, Xojo and Xcode developers can quickly add offline, Serial Number online or USB dongle activation to protect and license any Mac or Windows desktop application. Configure and apply a time-limited Trial, Product, Try/Buy or Subscription license with computer unique activation. The license type, features, interface customization and activation process can be configured within QuickLicense without custom programming. Runtime commands for added flexibility include license release, restore, reset, suspend, remote enabling of features, field read and write, plus data send and receive through the activation server.
The runtime files work with an integrated family of tools that includes QuickLicense, QuickLicense Server, LicenseSupport, MakeDongle, the Safe Activation service and the self-hosted Desktop License Server. The entire order, payment, delivery, product activation and license management process can be fully customized and automated from a developer website.
The runtime files add new QuickLicense features including credit card payment commands to accept InApp credit card payments with a couple function calls. This capability requires a Safe Activation account and uses the Paypal system to securely vault credit card data and accept payments.
Each Serial Number activated license includes a set of feature flags that can control product capabilities including access to different editions or paid upgrades. Feature flags can be remotely set from the Safe Activation server through an automated purchase process. For example, simple Paypal Buy or Subscription buttons can automate the upgrade process from a Personal to Standard or Global edition of a Product without requiring an additional download. Major upgrades to a product or additional computer activations can be priced and purchased based on the current version of a customer product.
PluginFMQLRT 2.0 and PluginXojoQLRT 2.1 are each available for Mac or Windows at $295 each. QLRT Xcode 3.1 is $495. Each product includes royalty-free runtime distribution rights for any number of protected products or distributed licenses. Casual difficulty is great for toddlers and kids, the eggs have no transparency and they're bigger than normal in size. Parts of the eggs are somewhat hidden behind or in front of things, but they're mostly easy to find and provide a fun quick hidden object tapping experience.
Medium difficulty is great for kids and adults. The eggs blend in more with the background scenes and they're around a normal size. Some levels are harder than others so the eggs provide a different hidden object challenge throughout each level.

Additional tools and features are offered via auto-renewable subscriptions. SoundMeter Standard, SoundMeter Pro, and Pro Tool Set subscriptions may be purchased in increments of 1 month or 1 year.
Major additions to the new SoundMeter X include a multi-channel data recorder tool, for streaming sound information to audio files, and the ability to share a Pro Tool Set subscription with the new SignalScope X--a single subscription unlocks Pro tools in both apps. The SoundMeter Pro subscription adds a whole or 1/3-octave real-time spectrum analyzer, a multi-channel data recorder, and a stereo signal generator. Additionally, data logging is added to the meter, dosimeter, and octave analyzer tools, and percentile-exceeded sound levels are added to the meter and octave analyzer tools.

Keep It 1.3 now allows saved searches to be edited. Complex searches can either be created by combining suggestions in the search field, or both created and edited using a rule-based editor that allows for more options, such as finding all items with dates in a particular period (e.g. the last 7 days), untagged or unlabelled items. In addition, saved searches can now be nested in the folders they target. Saved searches can be created and edited on both Mac and iOS.
It's now possible to add highlights in a variety of colors to PDF documents, and notes to those highlights. There is a new "Where" line that can be shown in the Info view to see the path of the folder in which an item is stored, along with any bundles that contain the item. When highlighting text in notes, there is now the same choice of highlight colors as in PDFs, and it's now possible to drag other items to a note to insert a clickable link to the item.

Pretty much anything can be added to Keep It, including notes, web links, rich and plain text documents, PDFs, images, or any other kind of file, using drag and drop, its share extension, the Services menu, or a browser bookmarklet. Keep It can also create new files of any type from stationery, and uses iCloud to make everything available across your devices and to share folders and items with others.
Keep It has all the organization tools you could need, including folders, tags, colored labels, and bundles. Keep It stores everything you add as files in folders that you can access in the Finder on Mac or the Files app on iOS 11, and open in other apps for editing. Saving files to these folders will automatically add them.
