Boston, Massachusetts - Pictional, the creator of the popular TrueHDR iPhone/iPad app for high dynamic range (HDR) photography, has announced the first release of TrueHDR for Mac. TrueHDR for Mac includes "simply merge" mode that seamlessly merges up to 100 high-resolution photos, and "align and merge" mode that first automatically aligns and then merges the photos. It also offers easy editing and social sharing features. TrueHDR for Mac is on 50% sale at $3.99 for limited time.

TrueHDR is designed to address the issue that cameras can only capture a limited range of brightness in a single photo. When people take photos of a scene that has a large range from bright to dark, they often have to choose between the bright areas and the dark areas. TrueHDR lets users import multiple photos taken at different exposures, automatically aligns the photos, and then seamlessly merges them into one photo that has vivid colors and details in both the shadows and the sunny areas.

TrueHDR for iPhone/iPad is one of a highly select group of apps that has been featured by Apple in the App Store Hall of Fame, App Store Essentials - Camera & Photography, and the App Store staff favorites. It has also been featured by MacWorld, TUAW, Mashable, Gizmodo, and Wired.

TrueHDR for Mac uses the same image alignment and merging technology as TrueHDR for iPhone/iPad to produce the most natural-looking HDR photos on the market, but uses the extra horsepower of the Mac to allow professional level HDR processing, handling many-image merges with ease, and features a UI/workflow specifically designed for the Mac.

TrueHDR for Mac includes "simply merge" mode that seamlessly merges up to 100 high-resolution photos taken at different exposures, and "align and merge" mode that first automatically aligns and then merges the photos, for situations where a tripod was not used in the capture session. The app outputs a stunning high dynamic range photo that can be further edited with the built-in sliders and filters. The output can be easily shared via Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Email, and more.
