Yoink 2.5.2 makes drag and drop on the Mac easier - Published on 04/07/14

Matthias Gansrigler has released the latest update to his drag and drop "helper" Mac app, Yoink. Yoink simplifies drag and drop between windows, spaces and (fullscreen-) apps by providing a "shelf" where dragged files can be placed to free the mouse for other actions like navigating. It not only accepts files from Finder, but also all kinds of content from almost all applications, like text snippets or images from websites, for example. Version 2.5.2 brings many bug fixes and minor improvements.

Vienna, Austria - Matthias Gansrigler, developer of the Mac apps ScreenFloat, a productivity app that creates floating screenshots, flickery, a flickr desktop client, Transloader, an iOS/Mac combo app to download URLs from an iOS device to the Mac via iCloud and Briefly, an app to easily create still motion videos - has released the latest update to his drag and drop "helper" app for Mac, Yoink 2.5.

Yoink simplifies drag and drop between windows, spaces and (fullscreen) apps by providing a "shelf" where dragged files can be placed. This way, the mouse is free to move quickly and more easily navigated to the desired destination of the drag where the drag can quickly be resumed from Yoink's "shelf". It not only accepts files from Finder, but also all kinds of content from almost all applications, like text snippets or images from websites, for example.

Multiple files in a drag are condensed into a file "stack" in Yoink so that they can be dragged out together at once. These stacks can be split up so single files can be dragged out. To make identification of the needed files painless, files can be QuickLooked by the press of a button. The app's behavior is very customizable to better integrate with the user's workflow.

What's new in version 2.5.2?
* Fixed a bug with color palettes
* Fixed a bug where some applications (e.g. CleanMyMac, calibre) would not recognize drags from Yoink)
* Fixed a bug where Yoink would fade in/out inappropriately
* Fixed a bug where items appeared greyed out when they shouldn't have been
