Indie development shop, Sol Niger is proud to announce the release of BitScanner 1.1, an update to its finance app developed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. BitScanner is a minimalistic iPhone app which allows you to check the value of Bitcoin and Litecoin addresses.
"I was always curious how many Bitcoins people receive on their addresses, and do they use single addresses for single transactions, as it supposed to be used," explained Daniel Bauke, founder of Warsaw based Sol Niger and developer behind BitScanner. This app helped me to check these out. All the data is publicly available, but the App Store lacked a simple app to just use it. It's so straightforward a feature that Apple should add this to its Camera app. And by the way, I noticed unplanned usage for it. It happens people got a blackmail with Bitcoin address to pay - the app gives you or the police an opportunity to check how many other people paid it."
BitScanner instantly starts and scans for QR-code in the camera or a wallet's address in a clipboard and shows its current value, amount of transactions, sent/received balance and allows to convert its value into five most popular currencies:
1. Know the value of your paper cryptocurrency wallets in multiple real currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, RUB, CNH).
2. Shock friends by showing them value of their wallets and convince them to use multiple addresses ;-)
3. Peek the amount and value of donations or sales in shops.
