Thanks to its slick design, the option to switch between "Magnetic" and "True" north mode and the possibility to easily personalize it in 100 different combinations, 3pCompass is setting itself apart from the other apps in its category.
With this new version of 3pCompass, the app has been enriched with the possibility to comfortably switch the compass between "True North" and "Magnetic North" mode. In order to determine the "Magnetic North" the app uses the magnetometer embedded in the iPad and iPhone. The "True North", instead, is determined either by using the GPS capabilities of the device or, when the device is not able to determine the "True North", by using the "World Magnetic Model" an open sourced sophisticated algorithm jointly developed by the United States' National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the United Kingdom's Defence Geographic Centre (DGC).
The app gives users the possibility to personalize the compass with 10 different needles (as easy as swiping up and down from the main screen) and 10 different colours background (just swiping left or right). This means, up to 100 different combinations!
