Boston, Massachusetts - Noise Industries, developer of visual effects tools for the post-production and broadcast markets, today announced the availability of Dashwood Smooth Skin, a plugin for Final Cut Pro, Motion, Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. Dashwood Smooth Skin can automatically track and apply virtual makeup to faces in a scene without any keyframing or interruption to the background. It can smooth out undesired details in HD or 4K closeups, including freckles, wrinkles, or acne and also tone down shininess, lift dark shadows or warm up the skin.
"I had tried to use some other skin smoothing products on the market but they could never easily exclude skin-like tones in the the rest of the scene," says Tim Dashwood, founder of Dashwood Cinema Solutions. "I had already implemented automatic face detection in our Secret Identity plugin and it occurred to me that the same technology could be used to smooth just the faces in any scene, excluding everything else in the scene. I then added a built-in vectorscope so the skin tone could be visually tuned to the skin line, and Smooth Skin suddenly became a very powerful, yet easy-to-use plugin."
Pricing and Availability:
Dashwood Editor Essentials is available today and can be purchased from the Noise Industries website for the introductory price of $79. The regular price will be $99.
