First Hebrew vowel keyboard released for iOS8 - Published on 09/22/14

Davka Corporation introduces Davka Nikud 1.0, a specialized Hebrew keyboard for iOS8 that enables the entry of vocalized Hebrew in apps for the iPhone and iPad. In the Hebrew language, 'niqqud' or 'nikkud' is a system of diacritical signs used to represent vowels or distinguish between alternative pronunciations of letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Davka Nikud is a useful add-on for anyone who needs to write Hebrew with accurate Hebrew vowel points, such as rabbis, Bible students, and scholars.

Chicago, Illinois - Davka Corporation is proud to announce the release of Davka Nikud, the first iOS8 keyboard designed for specialized Hebrew text, enabling the entry of vocalized Hebrew in apps that support Hebrew language input, such as Pages(R), Keynote(R), Notes, Mail, and many others.

In the Hebrew language, 'niqqud' or 'nikkud' is a system of diacritical signs used to represent vowels or distinguish between alternative pronunciations of letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The Davka Nikud keyboard makes it easy to enter these individual characters.

The multi-function keyboard displays the standard Hebrew keyboard layout. A tap of a button changes the display to that of the Hebrew vowel points. Users can type a letter, then tap on the vowel button, which brings up the vowel keyboard, insert the vowel, and resume typing the next letter. Davka Nikud supports the standard set of Hebrew vowel characters that is found above and below the letters, as well as the 'dagesh' character that is found inside the letters. The keyboard also includes the 'meteg' character, that is used in Biblical Hebrew.

Davka Nikud is a useful add-on for anyone who needs to write Hebrew with accurate Hebrew vowel points, such as rabbis, Bible students, and scholars.
