One of the major new features of iOS 8 is the ability for users to download and install third-party custom keyboards system wide. This feature is one that has long existed on Android and has been one of the most requested features by users on iOS for years now.
"What this means is that to install third-party custom keyboards in iOS 8 you'll download that custom keyboard's app, which will live on your iPhone just like other apps do," explained Venky Venkatesh, marketing head for mTouchLabs. "Once that app is installed you'll go into your Settings app, then go to General > Keyboards. From there you'll go into the next Keyboards screen and then tap, "Add New Keyboard." On that screen you'll see a new section called "Third-Party Keyboards." Tap the name of the custom keyboard you want to install under there. And that's it, you're done."
