The Conde Nast GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of the British publishing group Conde Nast International, which is part of the US media group Advance Publications. It was named after its founder, the publisher Conde Montrose Nast (1873-1942). The German subsidiary publishing house was founded in 1978 in Munich. Currently the women's magazines Vogue, Glamour, Myself, the men's lifestyle title GQ, men's fashion magazine GQ Style, residential and design magazine AD (Architectural Digest), as well as technology and digital culture title Wired are published.

In September 2000 Conde Nast founded the sister company Conde Nast Digital Germany GmbH, which took over the editorial management and marketing of the magazine websites as well as the site Style.de.

The Managing Director and Editor of the publishing house, which has about 300 employees, is Moritz von Laffert. Laffert is also Vice President of Conde Nast International. The company maintains its US headquarters in the Conde Nast Building in New York City.
