Glimpse lets you use every webpage as iOS8 Widget - Published on 02/14/15
APPenzeller has announced Glimpse - Webpages in the Today View 1.01, their recently launched widget for iOS8. Glimpse pushes the limits of the iOS8 Notification Center even further by letting the user add any webpage to it. The app provides the user an easy way to track their favourite webpages with one swipe, effectively turning this Notification Center Widget into a true internet browser. It is possible to choose a specific area of the webpage that should be displayed in the widget.
Frankfurt, Germany - APPenzeller has announced Glimpse - Webpages in the Today View 1.01, their recently launched widget that pushes the limits of the iOS8 Notification Center even further by letting the user add any webpage to it. Glimpse provides the user an easy way to track their favourite webpages with one swipe, effectively turning this Notification Center Widget into a true internet browser.
The user can see all their favourite webpages with a swipe down in the Notification Center. Want to see if there are news? If there is something new on a favourite webpage? If a long awaited product is available to order or check the used mobile data? All of this is possible by adding a webpage right within Glimpse with a few taps. It is possible to choose a specific area of the webpage that should be displayed in the widget. Another use of the iOS8 extensibility is the Safari Action Extension that lets the user add a page directly from Safari to the App.
In this Widget, the page can be refreshed at a given interval depending on user settings and the current connection (WiFi or Mobile). So Glimpse avoids unnecessary drain of battery or data usage. If no refresh is made, the widget displays a cache image of the website. On reload, the website is live in the Notification Center. When an interval is too long or the user wishes to refresh immediately, there is a option to refresh the widget manually. Furthermore, the webpage can be opened directly in Safari to see the full page.
Features:
* Add a Page to the Notification Center
* Scroll and zoom to a certain area of the page
* Remembers the page position, so that it is always in the right place
* Individual refresh intervals for Wifi and mobile data
* Open webpages from inside the Widget
* Add a page directly from Safari with the Glimpse Safari Extension
* Many options
When adding a webpage, it is possible to scroll and zoom to a certain area of the page. The widget remembers this position, so that it is always in the right place (Note: Glimpse works best with mobile optimised webpages). The app is not restricted to one webpage. A user can add a unlimited number of pages and navigate between them with controls in the widget.
Currently the app is localised in English and German. More languages will come with future updates which are already in development. The next update will possibly use future Apple products. More info on this will be posted soon.
Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6/6 Plus
* Requires iOS 8.1 or later
* Universal Application
* 9.4 MB
