Hereford, United Kingdom - DssW, the leading developer of Mac energy saving software, today announced the release of Power Manager 4.4 for OS X. This release adds new triggers, conditions, and actions. Power Manager is an energy saving solution for Mac OS X. Power Manager enables users to create sophisticated energy saving schedules and to automate complex tasks. Power Manager can power on a Mac, run a series of tasks, and power off the Mac without requiring any interaction.

"Power Manager 4.4 broadens the elements available for creating events." said Graham Miln, Director. "Sequences of actions can now be performed with restarts and pauses between each step. This opens up new ways to solve old problems."

New in this release are eight await actions. These actions allow the events to wait for specific situations before continuing. An event might run a script, then wait for the user to log out or for the battery to be plugged-in, and only then will the next action be performed. Await actions can span the Mac being powered off or restarted. An event could perform actions, then wait for a restart before resuming only when the next user logs back in. Power Manager makes this style of chained sequence possible in a reliable manner.

Improved in this release is the update mechanism. Power Manager takes a leaf from OS X's approach. When an update is available, a notification appears in the Notification Center. Notifications appear only for administrator users, so as not to disturb users without the rights to complete the update. This approach is lower key than earlier versions and is available on OS X 10.8 and later.
