Bend, Oregon - PureBlend Software is proud to announce the release of MovieSlate 8 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, their app used by professional, independent, and student TV/film production crews to effortlessly slate/log their shots, generate daily reports, and save time. Chock full of new capabilities and enhancements, designed to run exclusively on iOS 8 & 9, and optimized for the latest iOS device various screen sizes, the new app replaces the company�s popular MovieSlate 7 app which has become an industry-standard.

The new app�s features include: slate layout customization; improvements to text and image note tools; per-project report recipient lists; AirPrint/AirDrop support for printing and sharing reports; performance advancements; and countless refinements found throughout the app.

A new "Pro Features" subscription (an optional in-app purchase) syncs timecode and meta data, includes a Sound Dept interface for sound mixers, and a MultiCam interface for reality multicam production loggers. Using appropriate cables, LTC timecode can be synced with compatible cameras, sound recorders, and master clocks. Timecode and shot data can also be synced wirelessly with the Denecke TS-TCB smart slate, and Timecode Systems� latest Pulse, Wave, and Buddy Master timecode hubs. Using the MovieSlate Cloud data share feature, Pro Features subscribers can easily share their MovieSlate data and settings with other users of the app; useful for days when crew members substitute for colleagues.

Later this year, Pro Features subscribers will gain the ability to sync timecode and data with many ARRI and RED camera models, and even remotely control those cameras from MovieSlate 8.

Inspiration for the Pro Features came from Joe Foglia, a production sound mixer who invited MovieSlate's developers to the set of ABC's 'Castle' to pitch them on the idea, saying: "I've waited my entire career for something like MovieSlate. The developers at PureBlend Software listened and developed the app and its Pro Features, putting both through their paces by dozens of feature film and television production professionals over many long months.
