London-based app developer, Therapy Box has released a specialist app range targeting speech and language skills for preschoolers. Speech sound discrimination, rhyme judgement, category sorting and sound-letter associations are all various aspects that the apps have been carefully designed to address. Within each app, the child is taken on an adventure by the cute dinosaur, Dubdub! The range of apps include Phonics Keyboard, Rhyming Bus, Minimal Pairs and Odd One Out.

London, United Kingdom - Therapy Box today released a specialist range of apps which target speech and language skills for preschoolers. Each app has been carefully designed to address different aspects including speech sound discrimination, rhyme judgement, category sorting and sound-letter associations. Each app features a cute dinosaur, Dubdub, who takes the child on a fun adventure!

The range of apps include Phonics Keyboard, the first keyboard extension for iPad and iPhone to deliver a unique keyboard where children can tap the letter and hear the sound it makes; and link fun images of animals and familiar objects with the letter it begins with. This is a great first keyboard for little typists eager to send emails or practice spelling simple words!

Rhyming Bus makes working on rhyme judgement skills fun. This intuitive app sees Dubdub driving the bus and the child helps the rhyming words board the bus! It can be customized to suit your child's level of awareness of sounds. A great pre-reading app, which can keep being used as your child, progresses by simply making it more difficult.

"When I designed these apps, I really had my own toddler in mind," explains Therapy Box co-founder and speech therapist Rebecca Bright, "I wanted to create apps which were fun but offered parents a way of working on the really important skills preschoolers need."

Each of the apps can be adjusted to suit the needs of the child using them. The popular app first launched by Therapy Box in 2012, Minimal Pairs, has been redesigned to focus on Dubdub,and based on requests from parents, has additional words that target sounds in the beginning, middle and ends of words as well as blend sounds. Being able to hear the difference between minimal pairs is an important skill for speech development and for reading and spelling skills later on.

Odd One Out rounds out the range and offers the same great reporting feature in the app so parents can measure progress and share reports with teachers. Odd One Out is a fun fishing style game and useful tool for working on understanding meanings of words and their association with similar words.
